Hmm, over a year since my previous post in this thread. The Switch library has exploded with games I'd consider to be rated 9/10 experiences. My list has changed slightly. So games have fallen out of favor for one reason or another.
My current ten favorites
Bayonetta 1 & 2 - Stylish/action at its best, better than DMC imo.
Stardew Valley - Picked up the ball that Harvest Moon dropped.
Skyrim - Remember when Bethesda cared about its fans'?
Axiom Verge - One man made a Metroidvania nearly as good as Super Metroid.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Nobody does worldbuilding like Monolith Soft.
Lumines Remastered - The finest series of drop-puzzlers not named Tetris.
Diablo III - Dungeon crawling, loot grinding bliss.
Ikaruga - Mandatory gaming if you like the shmup genre.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Arguably the #1 reason to own a Switch.
Minecraft - Still the greatest indie game of all time.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,252 games (as of April 30th, 2024)
Favorite Quote: "Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age the child is grown, and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies." -Edna St. Vincent Millay
In no particular order:
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Super Mario Odyssey
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Shovel Knight Treasure Trove
Enter the Gungeon
Death Road to Canada
Ultra Street Fighter II
Broforce
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon
Not yet! I did play some multiplayer in Splatoon 1, but I've only focused on singleplayer in Splatoon 2. When you include the Octo Expansion, there's plenty to do. It's not like it's only worth buying for the multiplayer
@Dezzy No, but the SP content is more supplementary than anything. But, I mean, if that's all you want it for, then you do you. I initially sold my copy at one point (not a huge online multiplayer fan) and then repurchased it purely so that I could play the Octo Expansion. Since then, I've usually just played during splatfests, although... that's over with.
You need some Mario + Rabbids in your life. Goes cheap in sales, and it's a fabulous XCOM-esque tactics game.
1 Hollow Knight
2 Breath of the Wild
3 Shovel Knight
4 Stardew Valley
5 Super Mario Party
6 Golf Story
7 Mario Kart 8
8 Sonic Mania

XBox/Steam/Epic: owendershot | Switch friend code: I don't remember, these codes are crazy, I'll check later.
Playstations are fine, but I don't have one.
Here it is. I have too many games to play and not enough time but here we go with my 10 "for now".. in no order.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

The Switch has an amazing library, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses might be joining the ranks of this list soon. Nintendo has been pretty great in terms of first-party games. The only game that kind of disappointed me was Xenoblade 2, just because of how much I loved the first two. Still not a bad game.
1. Super Mario Odyssey (the reason I bought the console)
2. Piczle Lines DX + The 500 Extra Puzzles stand alone add-on (I did not see this coming)
3. Puyo Puyo Tetris (no surprise, the Tetris implementation alone is great - finally learned to appreciate Puyo Puyo as well!)
4. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (introduced me to a new game genre)
5. Super Smash Bros Ultimate (played 2 months straight)
6. Urban Trial Playground (something about the pleasure in repeating and perfecting)
7. Piczle Colors (no surprise given #2)
8. Fast RMX (sorry MK8DX, I just had more fun in local multiplayer with this)
9. Cadence of Hyrule (huh? Best Zelda since Link's Awakening)
10. BoTW (wonderful while it lasted, but I lost interest before the end, same as my experience with almost all other Zelda games)
1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
2. Super Mario Odyssey
3. Splatoon 2
4. Super Mario Maker 2
5. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
6. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
7. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
8. Super Mario Party
9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
10. Minecraft
