My son can't find his Nintendo Switch. I'm pretty sure it's lost in the house somewhere, but if it was lost and found by someone else, or stolen, would the Parental Control app be able to help me with that?
According to the app, the Switch hasn't been used since before it went missing. I assume if someone else had it and used it, it would have pinged the app when they connected it to their Wi-Fi.
Or is there a way to factory reset a Switch without a Wi-Fi connection?
@Redwood You can contact Nintendo and they will lock your account so that it cannot be used to purchase anything online - if you have the serial number I believe they can even flag it as stolen. Then if you get a new Switch you can recover your account and redownload any digital games you had. If you had an NSO account you can also recover your cloud saves.
If you believe it was stolen you should contact Nintendo ASAP. My friend's was stolen once and he was able to get his account back and Nintendo locked the console so if the perp connected to the internet they couldn't use his account. I don't actually know if it's possible to factory reset a Switch like this but that's their problem. You at least get your account back.

I just lost my switch and I wasn’t able to find it and now I’m kind of scared either one of my siblings took or my mom. I will reply in the morning to see if my mom has it.
I cant find my nintendo switch, its been 5 months and i cant find it i looked everywhere in the house plz help and it was3nt stolen cause sometimes i hear minecraft randomly
@Nickk If you’re sure it’s not stolen, how are we supposed to help? If you hear Minecraft, follow the sound until you find the Switch, but I think the Switch would’ve powered down, so it’s probably something else. But... it’s kind of hard to help you with that, the best thing to do is do what Heavyarms55 said above.
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
Sometimes I hear Minecraft, faintly, when things are quiet while I’m sitting in my living room, and I don’t even own Minecraft; so we can rule that out as a clue. Have you looked in your hands or pockets? That happens to me all the time. I’ll be looking around the house for my keys only to realize they’re in my hands!
@SwitchForce - Trolls! Trolls everywhere! Have you tried contacting Nintendo customer support about this? There’s nothing we can do for you here.
@1UP_MARIO - Haha, you’re not alone! Fell and twisted your ankle? There’s nothing we can do for you here, call support. I was glad to see “troll” return to the fold, it’s been a while, and that’s really their true number one hit.
Guys, I lost my Switch right after coming back from Cape May, and I had it in the car, but now I can't find it
after I brought it in! I tried every method. It's not in the car, my room, the family room, nowhere.
I know it wasn't stolen, also I have the dock and all of my games. Pls help.
@WoomyNNYes I did, but there's no option for a lost nintendo switch.
If you mean there's no option for "lost switch" on Nintendo support line's menu tree, don't worry about that. You probably have to pick nintendo accounts or eshop purchases, or "something else" if that's an option. Even if you go to the wrong place on the support line, whoever you get will redirect you if needed.
To have such option would require a monthly subscriptions to insure lost devices could be found. And I don't people would go that route. It's not like smart phone tracking since it doesn't have GPS hardware. That's what it will be needed if one u to have tracking lost Switch. But I think Nintendo with WiFi on Switch could narrow down where it is. Anything that connects to internet will give away it's location.
