Topic: The Longing

The little Shadow game that takes 400 days to finish, The Longing.
Did you buy it? What do you think about this type of game?
My girlfriend wanted to buy it right away and we both got it. So far so simple, we walked around, find some caves where moss grows and some events that will take from two weeks to one month to unlock. It's really a unique game, when everything is going so fast (and my GF is addicted to Tik Tok), this game just asks you to take it slow. Now with the health situation the premise may seem a bit too real, but it's still a compelling game, especially for people who like to wander about in game worlds.

I'm curious, but not enough to drop the cash. A game about...waiting? Passing the time while passing the time? It's like an idle game and yet it isn't. Can't say I've ever seen another game like it.

@Magician Well, apparently actively doing stuff in the game speeds up the timer. I think by now the time is ticking down almost twice as fast for me (I have few pictures and one extra book and I left the Shadow in the chair, reading).
But yeah, the game is about slowly walking everywhere. I think the walk pace for the Shadow is actually pretty good. It's not as frustrating as one would expect.

Just so you know how this game goes: only a week passed since release and I already shaved off a month off the timer, and that's with me losing one mattock before expanding Shadow's home and having to wait for the other one.

Does changing the calendar on switch works as time skipping?

Back to this thread. I have not tried anything with calendar. Here's something funny, my GF left her game for a long time in home (after decorating it) while I left the Shadow in a cave near mushrooms. Now she only has 90 days left and I have 242.
