@GoronBrudda Yeah I know. Don't think the game will be easy to find in 6 months from now though. That was what he was asking.

There's something I haven't seen talked about too much. One thing about Zelda on Switch that bothers me a bit. TL;DR It seems to me that additional and/or dynamic light sources have been stripped away in the recent Switch version when compared to the E3 build.

We've all seen this graphics comparison right?

Brightness levels and color aside, there's definitely something wrong with the lighting system in the Switch demo.
> The lighting is much more flat on Switch as can be seen when you compare the images at 7:24 (/GgT6KpNnILc?t=7m24s). You can see into the next room in the E3 demo, but on Switch it's muddled and flat.
> There's no additional lights cast on Link when opening chests or activating Sheikah pedestal in the Switch version, where as there was in the E3 build. This can be seen at 7:35 (/GgT6KpNnILc?t=7m35s) and 8:24 (/GgT6KpNnILc?t=8m24s).
> I count this to be a possible glitch, but when the Shrine door opens and light floods in, there seem to be no light cast on the floor in the Switch build when there is in the E3 one. This can be seen at 8:42 (/GgT6KpNnILc?t=8m42s) Curiously however, there is a sliver of light seen on a right side railing of the ramp in the Switch version, so the light is being rendered in the same manner. For some reason it just doesn't appear on the floor. Link is also being lit by the sunlight. This is why I consider it a glitch.

> Outside the Shrine of Resurrection, when you meet up with the Old Man, you can see the lighting effects of the bonfire on the characters are much lessened in the Switch build (althought there seems to be some light cast on the characters by the fire). You can compare these two scenes from two different videos (just add the text after youtube address):
Wii U: /NIrY56yg7dY?t=9m42s
Switch: /4N5P-SiqMlM?t=7m30s

One thing to note is that there is at least one instance of an additional light sources being cast on Link in the Switch build as well. The Shrine entrance teleported/elevators do give a blue glow on Link. Maybe fire does too but it seems to be more subdued in the Switch build.

So what do you guys think about this?
My theory is that the lighting elements are being downgraded in portable mode on the Switch, and due to a glitch the recent demo builds retained the portable mode asset settings even when docked.
Or they downgraded the lighting in the final Wii U version as well. It's hard to believe that it would be worse in the final Switch version that the Wii U version.

One thing to add is that on at least one instance (/XzSr4Nmk_OM?t=1m34s) Mr. Aonuma said that it was the "retail version, the finished version" of the game, and it had the same issues, so that makes me worried.

All in all, this is not a huge deal and it will not take away from the fun and enjoyability of the game one bit.
I'd like to see someone confront Nintendo about this though. Cough Games journalists Cough

With the way they keep talking about climbing everything I wonder if you can climb the Deku Tree.

@jump Well of course Link can! It might take an ungodly amount of stamina and potions if the guy doesn't have many low-hanging branches, but it'll be possible.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

Dezzy

Climbing on people's face is generally considered rude in my experience.

@Dezzy And yet the Great Deku Tree is one of the moments where Zelda has come its closest to being lewd.

@Dezzy @Tsurii

You know as unhinged and sociopathic as I am, I appreciate addressing the real concerns of mental health, genocide etc.

But that scene. With the very...very....very graphic and descriptive details of watching someone being skinned alive and then torn apart screaming limb from limb... even that got me. I was genuinely taken aback.

Hinox looks a bit silly. The other one looks cool though.

@Tsurii The pig snout on Hinox gulled me into not thinking about them! I wonder if they throw bombs in this iteration.

@Tsurii Yup, didn't think it was a Hinox, as they're more ''humanoid'' cyclops-like and not Moblin-like. I thought it was a special class of Moblin/Bokoblin.

IGN interviews Aonuma and Miyamoto on "redefining Zelda", how the game world functions, NPC's, Zelda, what went wrong with Skyward Sword and more.

Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8

Oh god, I bet there's gonna be those kind of problems that show up in games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3 where it's like "meet Dave under the big tree at midnight" and then he never shows up.

I remember a dude in the Witcher 3 who would never show up for me. You had to ditch the quest and then go and complete a different quest before retrying to make him show up.

(this is me responding to them saying that different characters all have their own lives and missions etc etc)

@Tsurii I agree! It really is a fun game if you take it at face value.

@Dezzy The probability for glitches to happen increases with complex systemic games. Hopefully it'll prove to be hilarious rather than frustrating, if it ends up having issues!

That's because it clearly is, they just took away an eye and slapped the name 'Hinox' on. As well as the Bokoblin's wide elfish ears, hog's snout, and head spike, the 'Hinox' design also evolves their loin cloth, three finger(nail)s, tusks, and necklace elements.

In any case, Famutsu has a rough rough rough version of Falco's concept art. This may be spoilers if you can read Japanese, I wouldn't know:

Thank you. There's some spoilerish info, so probably don't go to the article if you don't want some of the info regarding the blue scarf people to be spoiled.

I mostly just don't want to discover what his name is. He will always be Falco to me.

Got married.
