I'm hoping Nintendo have a live Zelda presentation at E3, and Miyamoto walks onto stage with a lawnmower...

Nah, he just comes out with a lawnmower but there's no grass. Add it to the list of disappointments!

lol I remember I stated in this thread somewhere that I expected this to hit in 2015, way back when.

On the other hand, I started trolling the nx thing real early. Goes to show, dear internet, that I’m always right, save for the time.

Now, as for me on page 7:

Have blades of grass in the E3 Digital Event that are actually puppets a la Star Fox. They could sing the Zelda theme.

Recently finished: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Splatoon 3: Side Order, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Currently playing: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
What's next: ?

I actually think that's a great idea. It would be a great way to open E3: The developers finish talking by making some subtle hint about hearing the character's voices for the first time, and the lights dim. The screen begins an animated video with epic music, and the camera turns to Link and he says "Hello everybody!" in Toad's voice. Zelda then shows up and reveals Toad hiding behind Link's back, and explains to the audience in a very realistic and lively voice that it was all just a prank, and that we all will indeed hear everyone's voices now, except for Link, since he doesn't have much of a way with words. Link then gives a small nervous laugh as Toad climbs on to Link's shoulder. Zelda then dives into the rest of the presentation as Toad scurries back to the mushroom kingdom.

It would be a great idea, except Nintendo's no longer in a situation to have such a sense of humour. Considering the position they're in, people will probably get mad.

That actually doesn't make a half-bad box art. Just take off the feather that makes "Zelda" unreadable (red on red = no) and swap out the indistinct parchment background for a vista of our beloved grass. Let the red and blue contrast against that.

Lots of speculation about what Nintendo's got planned for Zelda at E3. I've been scouring the press release for any possible hint, and I've come up with a pretty compelling theory. I also haven't slept in 3 days, but that's incidental. Bear with me here:

E3: Nintendo chanGes its appRoAch to the Show every year. ThiS June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming Game in The Legend of Zelda seRies. The Wii U version of the gAme will be playable for the firSt time on the E3 Show floor, and it will be the only playable Game Nintendo pResents At the Show, in order to provide attendeeS a complete immersion.

A clue! But what could it mean? Of course, this was only part of the story. To uncover the whole truth, we must conduct a deeper textual analysis:

The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion.

deeper...

... it will be the only playable game... at the show... to provide... complete immersion.

deeper...

... only... game ... complete... immersion

Fast forward to June 2016. The best and brightest of the world gaming press arrive in LA, only to find the convention center levelled to the ground. In its place; mile after mile of rolling green plains. A gentle breeze playfully tickles the grass, each blade lovingly rendered in full HD. The wind whispers with a familiar voice...

"Please understand."

Ugh, that title, like a bad soap opera. Unless, by "Broken Promises," they mean "breaking the promise of a 2016 release."

Nah, it's the broken promises of a 2017 release date. It's now set for late 2018 and a dual Wii U-mobile release.

So Nintendo, the last time you delayed this game, you gave us Twilight Princess HD as a mea culpa. What do we get for this delay? How about Skyward Sword HD? (Please?)
Or maybe just a downloadable version of the Wii game. I would settle for that.

Yes please, both of it! I would also be happy about having the VC version digitally, but in my opinion SS deserves a HD remaster more than TP did.

Nicolai wrote:

It has gotta better be pretty good if they're dedicating all of E3 to it.

That's also my only hope and I'm really counting on it. If that game will be as good as I expect it to be, all the wait might be worth it. But I'm already torn between buying the Wii U version or the NX version. Will see after they show us more, it'll probably depend on whether I can afford the NX (Dammit, I wanna know the official name already!) at launch or not. ^^

I thought Skyward Sword was the first futuristic Zelda? With all the robots and and AI's...

Vinny wrote:

Do you guys think they'll release a short demo this year at least or nah?

Nope, a demo would be very unusual for a Zelda game and honestly, for such a big game, it's not really helpful anyway.

This might be the only Nintendo game on this site whose thread is gonna explode when E3 hits... let that sink in for a moment.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I don't need it to sink in that the Wii U has no games. That's been, like, ever since 2015.
