@Blast: I think it's weird too, but I appreciate them putting off a full unveiling until the last minute. I dunno about anyone else, but my hype level for a game tends to go down more the longer it takes after it's been unveiled. The 5-6 months after E3 would be perfect!
@iKhan: I guess that by "unveiled," I mostly meant "revealing a great deal of important information." I don't really think Zelda U has been unveiled any more than visually, to be honest. We're still waiting on a name, a story, any character other than Link (which was a given), any new game-changing features (bullet-time and Epona's self-navigation through trees are cool, but they're not exactly selling points), any sign of civilization, any dungeon, any puzzle mechanics, how combat works, music, and a bunch more. Considering we hardly know anything other than Epona, the art style, the size of the world, and a few minor details, I wouldn't really call it "unveiled."
Are we really not gonna get any substantial information about Zelda U until E3? Why is this game hiding? Am I the only one who thinks its weird we STILL don't even have an official TITLE?
I have a feeling Nintendo has gotten more secret lately. They probably needs to revamped their PR-department. Starfox and TPHD are slated for release relatively soon, shouldn't they be drumming up hype?
@Therad: I'd say Pokken instead of Starfox, it's really sounding like Starfox will be delayed again. As for Zelda U, I think it's either being probably shown off at E3 or info is revealed during extended Zelda month (between this week and the end of March, don't forget that the actual 30th anniversary date is this Sunday).
With TPHD only being a fortnight away, I would be surprised if we were to see anything about Zelda U before then. It makes sense to focus on the impending release before detailing anything about a new entry

Well, the same principle applies. They have things in the pipeline, but almost no marketing. They really need to get their act together.

But I haven't seen that much hype building around TPHD either. and as you say, it is very near release.
@G0dlike: Arguable because of the TPHD to Zelda U transfer via the Wolf Link amiibo. If there's something significant (e.g. something like you can transform into a wolf if you transfer a completed save file of TPHD to Zelda U) then showing off Zelda U before TPHD releases would benefit the latter.
@Nicolai: They don't have to reveal too much, but once the cat is out of the bag, I'd at least like to see a steady stream of updates. Maybe some game artwork, or an NPC, or even the first room of the first dungeon.
As it stands, they wet our tongues, then disappeared.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

Assuming it's coming out at christmas, E3 is a good time to dump it on the world. Makes sense that they'd wait for the big event.
I was playing through Skyward Sword and it's fascinating looking back at stuff like the first Ghirahim fight and the immediate events afterwards from a Hyrule Warriors perspective. Some of Fi's and Ghirahim's moves come from that portion and a skyward strike is used to close the gate of souls in the sealed grounds stage.
I know it's kind of off topic but the Skyward Sword vs Twilight Princess debate made me want to look back at the former (as of course I'm replaying TP via TPHD in 2 weeks).
I wonder why Skyward Sword hasn't been released as downloadable yet? Maybe in between TPHD and Zelda U? Or is there a problem releasing games that require Wii Motion Plus?
Also still waiting for Link's Crossbow training to release downloadable on Wii U.
Another great example of the convergence of random variables on the current Zelda poll on this site.
I always try and show people this concept but for some reason most fail to remember it.
Look at what the distribution of votes was after about 300 votes (when I voted) and then after about 3000 votes. It's the same. This is the same reason why surveying a few thousand people can accurately describe an entire country.
Ok, I'm done with the nerding.
I wanna see Link cast Din's Fire in Zelda U. Can you imagine how beautiful that spell would look? It could cause enemies to catch on fire, scorch the grass, burn walls...
You can even keep the exact animation of Link casting Din's Fire from Ocarina of Time. Just make it pretty and powerful. Of course certain enemies can't get hurt by it but you get what I mean.

Someone voted fot Triforce heroes so I refuse to acknowledge that poll.
