@jump Just another Yokai watch Situation, where in which you know that the games are set in Japan, but the localizers are refusing to keep it set in Japan for whatever reason..
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
Not usually a fan of overzealous localization, but Japanifornia is a setting I'm overtly fond of now, and it gives the series a fun 'alt history' vibe it would otherwise be missing.
Hah! Love this! Glad to know what I'll be getting into when I dive into the original trilogy.
If this is handled similar to Ace Attorney Trilogy, I'll be fine with importing if they do decide to pull the code-in-a-box nonsense. Smugly waves cane

@Losermagnet I remember seeing that before and was gonna post it but I couldn't remember what it was called to find it.
Localizations are werid, I remember watching kiddie anime like Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh as a kid and seeing them always refer to rice balls as doughnuts so I assumed rice balls were actually sweet and sugary until I tried one years later only to find they weren't. There's no truth to that art!
@jump The original Yu-Gi-Oh anime has some censorship but.. it’s honestly not bad in the dub. However yeah, it’s strange how they think kids are too dumb to understand another culture entirely.

@Magician Yeah, I guess so. I looked at some known games that, say, require you to download one of the games, or only have partial game data on the cartridge, and they all have a little message on the cover somewhere attesting to that, which implies that TGAA is fully physical (the main games, at least; probably with a download code for the DLC stuff).
It's pretty rad that we're getting a physical AA release state-side again, considering Capcom went digital only during the 3DS era.
@Magician Thanks for the mention! I read through the listing details, and it does look quite promising for us physical media aficionados. $40 seems reasonable for what's on offer too IMO.

In preperation for this game I've requested time off of work during its release week. I never do that. I think this my most anticipated game of 2021, and I don't think there's much that could top it.

@Losermagnet It's good to hear you have that kind of excitement for them. It's a bit surprising though as I didn't think these games had that kind of fandom to them.
There are not many games I can think of that I would use my time off for. I've even queued up at a midnight launch for my Switch I still went into work the next day.
@Losermagnet It's my most anticipated game of this year too but I'm going to need to be a little more patient before I can play it. No physical release here as far as I'm aware and I'd rather not go digital so I'll have to import and wait a couple of weeks unfortunately. No biggie though as long as nobody spoils it for me.
@jump Normally I'm that way too. There aren't many video games that genuinely excite me so much that I go out of my way for them. What makes this so different for me is that the games release kind of worked out perfectly for me personally. I never looked up anything on the games so the story hasnt been spoiled, it's a physical edition, and it's cheap. This is what Mother 3 should have been.
I wouldn't consider myself part of a AA fandom, they're just cozy and enjoyable. Good characters and dialogue, and some nice observational puzzles. I will probably play these in my jammies with a nice cup of coffee.
@BenAV ah sorry to hear that. Im kind of in the same boat with spoilers, until release day that is.

@Losermagnet As someone living in Australia who plays a lot of visual novels, I'm pretty used to it by now. The market for them here is too small I guess as we never get physical releases for them.
