Gosh dang the game looks beautiful on Switch! Looks exactly like the remastered version I own on Xbox One.
Man I love this console. It's juuuust powerful enough to run amazing AAA games that look gorgeous, but juuust underpowered enough to still be mobile...
Honestly there's never been a console I've loved this much. People look back on GameCube with fondness, or Dreamcast... Switch is one day going to be looked back on with great admiration
@DarthNocturnal Okay, I'll re-buy it if I can do frozen weather survival stuff. I wonder if that works in dungeons where there's fire and ice? I mean I can always just download the mod on my PS4 copy... but still, that's hella cool.
@DarthNocturnal There are only EIGHT Divines per the White Gold Concordat. I would hate for a Thalmor Justicar to pay you a visit....

(My dragonborn is Altmer actually, but she is from Cyrodiil in my headcannon so the Thalmor don't like her either.)

@DarthNocturnal I don't know why but I felt like Kass was that character in BOTW. Also it is the skooma withdrawals that make them scary (you know which character I'm taking about...).
I tried survival mods before...not my cup of tea (although with the amount of food i horde i need to put on a hunger and sleep mod again) but I hope the switch gets it for the diehards. My switch game will be breezy and or a evil run (I never play the bad girl.)

@DarthNocturnal Dog meat is totally edible! The Gourmet says so! You know, that fella that wrote that cook book. (I've played this game way too much)
Most of the mods I've seen for skyrim add containers of water into the game to force the thirst requirement. There are countless farms you can raid and make your own stews, and I tend to raid bandit camps for food as well. Just because you ate 10 apples doesn't mean it isn't a meal lol. Hearthfire didn't add that much to the cooking unless you like to bake. I just wish the armor mannequin pose bugs would get fixed. That killed a lot of my home building for me.

@DarthNocturnal if it is planted at a farm you can plant it in the player home farms. I have the greenhouse and the outside farm at Lakeview and I grow nightshade and food.

@Tyranexx I'm not sure that would really work. It would just be really pixelated first-person, no? A lot of the point of TES games is the detailed environments.
Besides, The Elder Scrolls has always been first-person not top down — that's its identity as much as cops and car jacking are GTA's. The analogue would be an old dungeon crawler like Arena:
@Haru17 They really put a lot of effort to improve third person view gameplay and third person view in general in Skyrim compared to Oblivion for a game that wants to be strictly first person and nothing else and want it as part of its identity.
Try both games using third person view and you will see then.
I hate so much 1st person view but I play Oblivion using 1st person view myself since 3rd person is worse than unplayable. In Skyrim I'm so used to it that now I can even aim and cast long range destruction spells in 3rd person view.
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
@LuckyLand I literally posted images of the series first-person dungeon crawler roots. I never claimed TES was only first-person, just that first-person is the perspective for which the games are made. Meanwhile top-down, what I was discussing, is third-person only. That would be like the Fallout Shelter of Elder Scrolls.
Your first-person / third-person tastes have nothing to do with it. I realize that third-person got better with Skyrim and then Fallout 4, but it still doesn't offer the minute aiming / item grabbing control that first-person can and which the games are designed for.
I just don't think people who care about improving third person view THAT MUCH in their game would mind making a third person only version of that game. I don't think Bethesda would ever create an Elder Scrolls demake, but if they do I think it could as well be a 2D third person view game, expecially if they want to mimic 16 bit era console games, because first person dungeon crawlers on consoles back then were a real pain to play, being designed for controllers completely different than a gamepad.
Not to mention that 3rd person view Elder scroll games have already been made
@Spoony_Tech: That would be a crossover I would also try, though not long-term. XD I'm picturing organized Khajiit Skooma cartels and various mafia "families" with members of certain backgrounds. XD
@Haru17: My idea for a top-down perspective game was to better align a 16-bit Skyrim demake with other RPGs/adventure games of that era. It would be neat to see it sort of flash to a first-person view during battles though.
Again, this is all just fun speculation. I doubt a demake (at least by Bethesda) will ever happen.
