Ranked 1st (on my 14th try). Yohooo! So much fun!

This game has been super addictive. Personal best is 7th,
Matching making happens really fast and i appreciate how you can jump into a new game as soon as you loose instead of having to wait for the round to end.

I've played 10 matches or so and I've been in top 10 three times so far. I got 7th twice in a row and 8th place once. I don't know if I can get to first place. I'm not that good. I'm having fun but I don't know how long I'll keep playing until I move on.

And speaking of moving on, the game takes your level into account while match making, right? There's bunch of people of different skill levels playing right now but I wonder what happens in the future. I hope the player base stays big and varied so that getting into a match is always fast and there are always players you can compete against that are about as good as you are.

I just figured out a bunch of stuff, and now I feel super dumb.

I figured out to press up to instantly place the block; I'd been holding the down button lol
I figure out that different direction inputs on the analog stick will lock you to different opponents: badges, attackers, etc. I thought it was just scrolling in order.

I feel like I've been playing with a hand tied behind my back lol

So I don't have the online subscription since I haven't found a reason to get it yet. Is this game kinda like Kirby's avalanche for the snes? Delete lines, bad stuff gets sent to others? Can multiple people play at once from one console online? I downloaded the game, but can't play it.

Yea, this is an awesome game, but don't get the online just for it, especially if you wanna play with other people. Right now, this is literally just you against 98 random people - there's no way to play with someone else or control who you get matched against.

@rallydefault Still sounds fun, but I never have paid to play online with any console (unless it was an awesome sale with some free games like xbox does sometimes). So I still want more out of the online play before I jump I guess.

I think there's something wrong with my pro controller.

I had to deactivate Hard Drops as they somehow got used in matches, without me even pushing up on the D-pad, therefore destroying my progress. I also noticed that sometimes in the main menu, the controls seems to get stuck on scrolling down the options. Is there some dust stuck somewhere or is there some problem with the sensors? I believe similar stuff has happened to me in other games, but with the L stick instead.

Edit: Got my best placement yet: 15. Wonder if I will get better than that?

@Quarth I’ve found the same. It’s infuriating - tap left and it’s a hard drop to ruin your run.

I know that plenty of people have said from the start that the pro controller d pad is poor. I suspect I’ve just not played anything that’s tested it’s responsiveness quite as tightly before now.

@Quarth The left stick probably works identical to the dpad in this game so chances are the left stick is the problem here too.

@StuTwo @Grumblevolcano It sucks! I'm satisfied with it in every other regard, but here it has let me down.

The sticks can't be used to move the pieces, only to aim.

Agree with Ragfihs. I find the joycon controllers very precise actually. Btw There's a youtuber with a 85% win rate on the game who prefers joy-cons on this game over the pro controller.

Maybe the controls are intentionally crappy for this game when using the pro controller, so that we should begin to consider getting those overpriced NES controllers that are offered for us NSO subscribers? 🤔😂

And then you wouldn’t be able to aim your attacks.

Has there ever been a more "just one more" game than this? I think not. I can't get enough of it!

Last night I somehow managed back to back victories, couldn't believe it.
