Topic: Switches life span

Anyone else worried about the life span of this console? I had hope for it until it release and Zelda played better in mobile mode then docked. Seems to me to really be a glorified tablet, even my tablet can be mirrored to my TV. And what about the mobile only games. Nintendo says the DS is going nowhere but with Mobile only games coming and the hybrids running better in mobile how long before Nintendo needs a real in home console. Also the system can barely run Zelda is not very encouraging.

Can your regular tablet play console level AAA games?

I personally think it's gonna do fine. And it can run Zelda fine as well, albeit with some occasional stuttering here and there. Saying it can barely run it is a pretty big exaggeration.

After seeing Zelda run I'm worried about developers supporting this console and if they do turning it into a mobile console is my point. And they do put AAA titles on mobile and out dated AAA on tablets

My consurn is spending 300+ on the console to see not get support or take the place of my 3ds

Yes... But I guess that depends on how you define AAA games.

I agree people are over exaggerating the performance of a Wii U port of an Open World game. lol

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Then wait and see. No one is making you purchase this console now

Well, of course I mean console level AAA games. I'll edit it to clarify.

I think the console will do fine, and I don't think it performs better in handheld to TV mode. I didn't notice any difference other than crispness here and there from the 720 to 1080.

"Can barely run Zelda"

Really? Curiously, comments on the Zelda thread tend to say the total opposite.... Maybe you're the special case?

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

@Luna_110 actually it's been in most of the review s I have read as well. Frame rate drops, aliasing, pop ins, ext. And it's worse in TV mode

@younguns
It's not so much worse in TV mode it's just non-existent in portable mode. In docked mode it's running at a higher resolution.
