Ori: The Collection will require a download the same as the individual releases.
How disheartening.
These collections are more about the money-grab than anything else - including all game on the cartridge game preservation.
Makes me wonder about the next generation - if physical - will it be nothing but downloads given the likely size of the games? And if that is the case, what's the point of purchasing the physical.
Apologies if this is already known, if it is I missed it. But Streets of Rage 4 is getting an Anniversary Edition that includes the Mr. X Nightmare DLC:
Yeah, with that information now known, I'd assume the LRG releases for the trilogy and 64 just went up in value. Or should I say will hold a higher value once they ship.
Oh yeah, and Bazaar-Bazaar has a 5% discount code: AMZ001
I think it's supposed to be a one-time discount per customer's first order but I don't think that's enforced.
My physical copy of Kitaria Fables arrived today, I tried it out briefly in handheld mode.
It has v1.0.0 on the cartridge and there's no update available for it as of yet.
The home icon is a little unusual, it uses artwork of the main character that looks early compared to the printed media or anything else in-game, no text.
The performance seemed fine initially, it seems to target sub-30 FPS but drops significantly when a dynamic wheat field was displayed on screen.
The UI has scaling options and defaults to large, but it may still look somewhat small on the Switch in handheld mode.
Later today on LRG, pre-orders for Neon Abyss and Monster Boy Collector's Edition go live at the same time, 5pm BST / 12pm Eastern.
As Neon Abyss is an open pre-order, I'm hoping that they do the usual thing of opening those pre-orders slightly early so people can be ready to get that Monster Boy Collector's Edition.
But, I'm also wondering if it'll sell out that quickly because a lot of people already have the game physically.
@Anti-Matter
Yes, I'd pre-ordered it from 365games and it looks like they shipped it surprisingly early, way ahead of the September 2nd release. 365games have occasionally shipped out games earlier than expected, but never this early. https://www.365games.co.uk/nintendo-switch-games/kitaria-fabl...
I've only played it about 10 minutes through the opening introduction, but it looks like something I'd enjoy playing if I give it time.
Under the circumstances, it may be that a day one patch is planned or something, and it's just too early still.
Got my order in for the Monster Boy CE. Feels good, I'll be giving my standard copy to a friend who's a Sega kid after that arrives. Decided to cancel my preorders for King's Bounty II and Hoa; I'll be using those funds for Neon Abyss and Haven from LRG. Not a tough choice. Then we have Quake and Dusk from LRG opening on Friday.
Ugh, LRG really putting its boot to collectors this week.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,555 games (as of March 31st, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
I got my order in for Monster Boy CE too, along with Neon Abyss, and some other stuff available from weeks prior.
I had a brief scare where my card was declined because my bank wanted to me sure it was me, so I ended up using Paypal instead.
At this moment, the PS4 version is down to 4 left, and will probably sell out immediately.
The Switch version might sell out by tomorrow at this pace.
@GrailUK
4999 Switch copies manufactured, 4900 for sale.
The PS4 version was 1020 units and sold out in about 25 minutes.
I would hurry if you want the Switch cartridge with v1.0.5 installed and/or the nice collector's edition set.
I should add this isn't the first time these games have been printed, you can always order a standard copy elsewhere, but the Switch prints won't have all the updates.
I was not on top of this because of a busy work day and just now placed my order for the Monster Boy CE. I am not a CE collector, but love the game and the fact it is 100% on the cartridge. Selling off my old copy to partially subsidize the purchase.
If you missed Strictly Limited Games's standard edition release of Clockwork Aquario from November 2020, Amazon JP listings from ININ Games have just popped up.
