I think the AI is hallucinating.
I haven’t seen any kind of announced release window or preorder listing for physical Silksong.
My guess is Fangamer will handle it in the same manner they did Hollow Knight: they will wait a year or so for Team Cherry to put out the free DLC and various fixes so they can bake it onto the cartridge.
It’s likely to be a long wait! But it’s a strategy I can agree with. We’re left with a better product on our shelf in the end.

@Belexes - AI is not going to be near acurate since its references is anything the internet reports. And some sites will report hyped up misinformation due to a blurt from the devs wanting something.
AI also does it to Kamiya being behind Star Fox Zero. But he was nowhere near the project.

This link is for a physical release of Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart (a tactical JRPG Neptunia spin-off) on Playasia. Expected to ship in March of 2026. Not really a US or CA release, but it can be shipped to those countries and includes English language.
You can also find a collection with Switch 1 physical copies of the three Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth mainline games. Already out. Includes the English language. Costs $110 for all three.
Again, I don't know if anyone else who frequents this thread is interested in these games, but I thought I might as well highlight them here since they are physical games complete on the cartridge 😀.

Speaking of First Press Games, today happens to be the anniversary of when they last updated their Release Progress page.
It hasn't updated since 8th January 2025.
@ElRoberico
Right now, Fangamer has some Silksong merch listed, but still no game software.
I’m not on any social media and so it’s possible I could have missed some kind of Silksong physical announcement from Fangamer, but I still tend to think nothing official has been shared.
Had there been an announcement, other outlets/retailers would have noticed and gotten word out. I’m sure a lot of people are waiting patiently!

A UK based publisher that "invests heavily in High-grade materials and Custom packaging and print finishes".
That's the trappings that First Press Games fell into, because at the end of the day the single most important thing is the game card in a standard Switch game case.
I feel confident that the majority of FPG customers no longer care about all the packaging guff like special sleeves and metal coins, and just want the damn game.
33 Games wants to operate in a UK space where Super Rare Games already do great physical game releases, and Lost in Cult appears to do lovely print works and is now pushing into games publishing too (though they've yet to ship my order for Thank Goodness You're Here).
I wouldn't hold my breath with 33 Games, this looks an operation that'll ship a handful of games and then seemingly disappear or stall operations, much like Ultra Collectors, 1 Print Games, or Leadman Games. Leadman's logo still showed up on the LRG double pack release of Salt & Sacrifice and Salt & Sanctuary, so it somehow existed in some form for a bit longer.
Took a peek at the reddit. Seems folks are fed up with Premium Edition Games. Looks like they've fallen into First Press Games-levels of infamy. PEG started strong, I have a handful of their releases. But like Strictly Limited...I haven't placed a preorder in years.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,551 games (as of March 3rd, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@Magician
They're probably cash strapped after getting over-ambitious with releases, since they've been sending out frequent low-stock emails trying to get more sales, but also started selling partner releases like VGNYSoft and Tesura.
Boutique publishers selling their stuff outside of their storefront has been on the increase, like Super Rare Games titles at VGP, or Strictly Limited Games releases on Amazon UK.
I've been waiting on Premium Edition Games releases like C.A.R.L. and Curse Crackers for too long already. My VGP pre-order with C.A.R.L. has been in limbo since September 2024.
Surprised LRG(etc) haven't scooped up Freddy Farmer. Thee' Best 80's/early 90's styled NewWave Arcade game that I've personally experienced on NS, even besting Donot Dodo which already got a physical release(Which i own) from Pix'n Love Games a couple of years back.
Still no Super Cyborg either. Sniffles* Thee best Spiritual NES Contra sequel, including Blazing Chrome this generation has seen. Iron Meat can't compete.
I'm 95% digital these days, but when you love and treasure a game so much, you just want something to represent it, be it a figurine, a piece of art or a physical copy. Freddy Farmer has nothing other than it's awesome early 90's NES inspired poster/cover art that's been left for dead on the web. Could always just Pro-Print and frame the thing. lol
Bubsy 4D announced a release date of May 22nd and physical pre-orders, skipping a boutique release. I was expecting LRG to handle this (but maybe they'll do some sort of collector's edition?)
VGP has physical editions of the Disney Afternoon Collection up for Switch 1 and Switch 2, with the Switch 2 edition priced $15 higher.
The Switch 2 page is marked "GAME ON CARTRIDGE" and there is no mention of key cards, which is a hopeful sign, although that price premium seems a bit much to me. I'm not a Switch 2 customer myself - have key cards been disfavoured by the big publishers lately?
@CANOEberry Publishers do not want to pay for a 64 GB cartridge for a game that could easily fit on a cheaper 16 or 32 GB cartridge. Game key cards are not the answer as I imagine sales are poor. (I'll certainly never purchase one of those games)
GAME ON CARTRIDGE is a sensible advertisement as it certainly will draw the likes of us in, physical collectors.
@Magician, I'm hoping that we can at least get the rest of the Trails games (Sky 3rd chapter, + Cold Steel 1 and 2) on Switch. Though Sky 1st and 2nd Chapters, I believe are both being published by GungHo, instead of NISA. Yet NISA published Trails Beyond the Horizon, and since the Switch 2 version of Trails Beyond the Horizon was a Game Key Card and the Switch 1 version was an actual physical, I kind of do want them to keep doing Switch 1 versions so that genuine physical copies can exist.
I just really want the rest of the older entries of the series to get physical copies on Switch please 😅.
