NGDEV are opening pre-orders for a final reprint of Gunvein, standard editions and collector's editions (700 units), both expected to ship in June.

I might just have to bite the bullet and take a standard copy from an Ebay flipper.

Yeah, the order pages warn that you can only use credit card or Klarna payments.
Nintendo UK Store also disallows Paypal for pre-orders, so there's probably some business reason for it possibly related to both businesses operating in Germany.

When I ordered Gunvein in October, I would've used my VISA debit card to order it, if you can do debit cards.
They don't seem to have a minimum order value for UK customers this time either? I had to place a pretty big order for Razion EX back in 2021 just to get myself a copy, whilst my brother took the other copies for himself and friends.

Magical Drop VI is hitting the LRG distribution line.

Pretty cool, Magical Drop is one of my favorite drop-puzzler series of games.

I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on a Japanese copy last year.

Still waiting for XCX to go up for preorder on AmazonNA, usually provided by Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, or whatever. Apparently Nintendo is still big-mad at Amazon for shipping games before street date? I don't know, I'd say things are worse over at Walmart with the googly-eyes shenanigans.

I see Strictly Limited copies of Drainus are out in the wild now.

Still waiting on Dezatopia & Mecha Ritz though.

I've had my copy of Drainus in-hand since March 2023, I only waited a few months after ordering it in November 2022.
The turn around for Drainus was really fast compared to other pre-orders around that time.

Yes I can corroborate on Drainus - Nov ‘22 order, March ‘23 receipt for me, too. I think it was not long after that SLG went silent and stopped shipping stuff.

SLG said in their New Year’s greeting email that they’ve shipped Ray’z Arcade, Eshatos, and Dariusburst CS Core, but maybe they’re talking about PS4? I had preordered all 3 for Switch, but have only received Dariusburst so far. How about you other SLG shoppers out there?

Ah, but I remember now I ordered the mid-tier edition of Ray’z and Eschatos, so I could get the soundtracks. That’s probably holding things up.

I played a little of the first game on my Sega CD long ago, when I had more time for RPGs! I'm glad to see the games revived for the new age.

I might just skip this one, though, since 1) I'm saving up for Switch Deux, 2) I've got the games already on my Mega Drive Mini 2 (in Japanese, at least, but I'd probably want to play them in Japanese anyway), and 3) I'm not crazy about the physical being an Amazon exclusive in NA. Does Amazon really need the support?

These are well-loved games that needed a re-release, though - I hope the collection is a great time for those who purchase!

I can only assume Amazon gave GungHo a money injection, and that retail exclusivity was the pivot point to get ze money.

@Magician - That game's original release is going to plummet in price, now. That game was hardly sought after.

The mega-retailer had that tiff with Nintendo about breaking street dates, or some such infraction, which resulted in Nintendo not allowing them to fulfill Switch game preorders for a while? I don't know if that row is hoed now, but it might have resulted in Amazon courting 3rd party publishers more energetically.

New boutique publisher Physical Mania is distributing Rage of the Dragons.

My trust in boutique publishers other than the usual suspects (LRG, SRG, P-A, etc) is spent.

This is one of those physical releases where I'll wait until VGP have product in inventory before I buy.

I had a similar reaction to seeing yet another new limited print publisher, but it turns out that this is just an imprint of Piko Interactive who have been publishing retro games on SNES, Genesis, etc. for the last 10 or so years, so they aren't a totally new, random company.

Huh, yeah if Physical Mania is just another branch of Piko Interactive, there's probably nothing to worry about. Certainly not another Warned Collectors situation.

I'm briefly reminded of Leadman Games, that gave us physical versions of Guacamelee One-Two Punch Collection, Salt and Sanctuary, and then just up and vanished around 2020.

Also reminded of Ultra Collectors, that did a few physicals like Indiecalypse, Sword of the Necromancer, Super Sports Blast, and then just wrapped up shop at the end of 2022 after a big Black Friday clearance.
