So, I hear The Messenger is getting a retail release...

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

@gcunit Didn't that get a release? Katana Zero is the game that cried wolf, no?

Star Overdrive looked promising, I remember it from an earlier Nintendo Direct or Indie World showcase.
That said I'm curious if it actually performs anywhere near as well as it does in that trailer?

Also, Nine Sols is getting a Fangamer physical release in 2025, both EU and US.
They've picked up some really good titles recently, and I'm looking forward to the physicals for Antonblast, Pizza Tower, and Little Kitty Big City.
Speaking of Antonblast, I was really disappointed that the Switch version launched with a 30 FPS cap. A performance update is on the way, but I hope that it targets 60 and not 30.

First Press Games have had the gall to announce they're opening pre-orders for a new game soon.
https://mailchi.mp/firstpressgames/osyaberi_horijyo_gekihori_...
Pre-order window is December 23rd to 27th January for a game with no stated estimated shipping/fulfilment date. The product listing points to their Release Progress page where the game currently isn't listed at all.

This game is actually digitally published by First Press Games, and has had an eShop demo available for a considerably long time now.

At least FPG's blog shows some photos of physical Chained Echoes game ..., which they claim standard editions will start shipping in February/March, but I won't hold my breath. They have far too many older titles still left unfulfilled, and the recent controversy with them apparently still going to fulfil Goodboy Galaxy orders despite the developer revoking their license to sell the goods.

@RupeeClock Wait, wait, wait erm how can they do this when they have so many outstanding orders?
I have Underhero and Mindseize outstanding from them.
The release progress page hasnt been updated since the 16 August.
This company is just a joke.

I had those waiting with them before I canceled months ago. Psychotic Adventures Origins too.

They're worse than a joke because they're dangerous, not incompetent. When Chained Echoes sold like gangbusters, they were so on top of it. Screw the rest of us. And even that they still can't get out. But yeah, we customers of yore were forgotten long ago.

See, our games didn't sell well enough, so rather than give the money back, they just didn't bother with us. They're looking for their next Chained Echoes so at least they'll get a lot of new money to not make a game with.

Strictly Limited sold iron meat ahead of all their other releases and then more and more, but based on their words and actions, I believe it to be funding older games. With FPG, that money is just falling into the void as far as I'm concerned.

@Hamstrman
Strictly Limited have been on the mend, they're reducing their overall new pre-orders and doing the odd release with limited numbers to operate at at reasonable level like Super Rare Games does.
The Iron Meat situation where stock was ready to go was unusual and did them a lot of good, there was a lot of demand for more and they're doing an additional run that'll help fund older pre-orders.

It's like, my SLG pre-order of Puzzle Bobble Everybobble has been in limbo as it was bundled with a few other items still not ready, for a long time now, and I'm seeing used copies of a standard retail release in CEX for cheap.

RupeeClock

Hamstrman

@RupeeClock exactly. I can tell SLG is trying to course correct. They're transparent about their f***up, their updates, their intentions. And they're doing it efficiently! They're getting their games out!

FPG just... Keeps making promises in exchange for your money. They realized no one would partner with them willingly anymore so they're publishing their own games?? Isn't MindSeize published by them too?

Yes, they published it, but also it's a Kickstarter that I backed for the physical. But still nothing from them except disappointment.

With Assault Suits Valken in my hands now the LRG collection is complete up to release #241.

Might have to start a thread ranking LRG releases 1 through 250 at some point.

No doubt Bill & Ted's Excellent Retro Collection will be near or at the bottom of LRG quality.

Valken Declassified has started shipping already? I didn't expect that till March... Oh but wait, I think I ordered the "classic" edition so I could get the soundtrack, so it would probably street later than the standard edition. I was thrilled to see somebody finally release the game physically and ordered from LRG instantly, though now I see the Japanese edition is up for preorder with (I thought) nicer box art.

If you do put together a thread ranking your fave LRG releases, I'd tune in for sure. I bought maybe 30 of those first 250 releases, just the games that appeal to me. I'm not what you'd call a collector and I never really pay much attention to LRG's release numbering, though I'm aware how vexing it can be for those going for a complete set.

@Paraka

Yup, evidently Nintendo recently changed their game submission guidelines for North America (Murica) and Europe. Those games with...sexually suggestive content are being flagged and are having a tough time passing the guidelines. Neptunia ReBirth Trilogy, Death;End Re-quest Code Z, and Tokyo Clanpool are all recent examples of games failing the new guidelines.

@Magician - Which baffles me cause the "Hentai X Whatever" AI slop keep passing.

Which, I am willing to bet is one of the reasons they changed the guideline to begin with.

Super Rare sending out emails on their next Switch release; SteamWorld Build.

It was inevitable for that release, stoked for it. But I did note there is no triple pack with this game leading it. May be another double release in the month.

@Paraka

Yup, SteamWorld Build is a highly anticipated and assumed release from Super Rare.

Figure SteamWorld Heist II won't be too far behind it.

Feels like time is running out.

Is 2025 the year we'll get Trails of Cold Steel I & II physical releases with English support?
