@Burtmakai There's a setting in the system settings to stop the Switch controlling your TV. I think there's also a power management setting to stop it turning back on when you dock it.

@Burtmakai You can actually ask Nintendo of America support (seattle) via chat messenger or phone. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/contact Their support is pretty decent. I've used phone and chat messenger. If you call, it can really streamline things if you have their site loaded up, in case they want to point you to a page of directions.
I've recall a similar sounding scenario here in the forum, there was a guy in russia, he said the picture on the tv kept cycling on & off, over and over. I could be wrong, but I think he solved his solution by plugging the switch into a different HDMI port on his tv. For whatever reason, that solved it. I tried to search the forum for that thread, to verify it, but I can't find it.
