@Silly_G You are right, now that I’ve seen the Amazon listing, it is definitely around $75 USD. There is an Amazon bundle that has DQ Heroes and DQ X All-In-1 for $130, but that’s the only option I see that is even close to $120.

@Silly_G I remember it clearly being $120 near launch when I was thinking about importing it. Just checked CamelCamelCamel, and it was actually higher than that at first, before having two major price drops, with $120 being after the first one.
@link3710 : It was never that expensive. The Australian dollar is weaker than the U.S. dollar, and I have never seen it exceed AU$120 (about US$90) so it most definitely would not have been even close to US$120. I'm not familiar with CamelCamelCamel, but it sounds like they have imposed a rather considerable markup on the game.
My comments were based on Play-Asia's pricing (and they are quite notorious for markups as well), as well as the standard retail price for the game in Japan (being about 10,000 yen, from memory, which is consistent with it being a little under AU$120).
EDIT: The Japanese eShop lists the game for about 9,500 yen.
@Silly_G Again, you can check CamelCamelCamel yourself, it clearly shows that was the price on Amazon.jp back during the month it launched. I'm not saying anything about it's price elsewhere, or what the standard is, just that that is where I got the $120 I referenced earlier from.
It's ridiculous to split a physical retail game into half digital and charge the same price, if it was anything else it sounds more like a scam to me. When I purchase a game I expect to get what I paid for unlike dlc which is optional and not necessary for full enjoyment of the game. I equate having to download the other half of the game to buying a car and not driving it because you have to go to another dealership with your sales receipt to get the keys or buying a meal and given a voucher for half of it to be given to you at another restaurant two counties away.
@GameOtaku The practice is kind of scummy, but publishers will always choose the less expensive option, which gets passed on to the consumer. Larger/second cartridge can result in higher RRP, which you probably already know. However, those smaller games (<16gb) that have required downloads on physical don’t make sense at all.

Problem is though they do have full physical games like the Megaman Legacy Collections (both original and X) but only in one region so it makes absolutely no sense for one region to have the full option while everywhere else you get scammed.
@GameOtaku That supports the fact that publishers don’t want to choose the more expensive option. Almost every cart + download code bundle has the smallest game on the cart. It really is quite a ripoff and full physical releases should be in all regions, not just in certain countries.

@PolarExperience
To me it's the opposite. If they wanted to save money then shouldn't it be the same across all regions? I don't see how doing a full release across all regions would be any more harmful than doing just for one region. The sizes for those games are small and do not justify a half done effort. It just defeats the purpose of "physical" releases. If I wanted it digital if go that way but it's not.
@GameOtaku : Only the X collection is fully available in physical form (and only in Japan). In Japan, you can buy both collections separately on cartridge, or as a bundle with only the first part on cartridge, and the second supplied as a download code.
As for the original Mega Man Legacy Collection, it is only available as a half-physical retail product in both Japan and the U.S.
@Silly_G
I could've sworn both collections had full physical releases in Japan. Again if that's the case that's bizarre, capcoms either hit or miss with everything it releases.
