@apolking Thanks for giving Goomble Jump another go. I tried your Mirror's Edge level, but I'm just not up to it, can't get past the wall jump on the second red block.

Prison break was good fun though! Well spaced out power ups meant it never felt too stressful and it was a nice themed platformer

@sjmartin thanks, I think that was about te 6th version of it. I've got a big retro themed level coming soon that's taking shape nicely.

@LordJosh that's a tough level, I'm a bit tired so I'll give it another go tomorrow. I got to a part with two Bowser Jrs, how far is that?

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

@ajmayhew It was much improved!

Thanks for checking them out! Yeah I think I definitely made that level too difficult, it's partly why I made a much more chilled level in Prison Break

@LordJosh Tried it and sorry I'm not going to finish it. I disagree that someone could do this first try. Due to the auto scroll you have one shot at making the red cannon ball jump and you have to jump before the ball is launched, I got through that bit on the fifth or sixth attempt, but then could only get through the switch block bit once - there's far too much to avoid here considering the tight timing - where I was killed in the first boss room when I unsuspectingly bounced off a hidden block containing, ironically, a 1up mushroom. There really should have been a checkpoint before the boss room. You've got to remember that you've had a chance to practice every area when you were building it and it was designed around your own playstyle. For us to practice an area we've got to go through the previous bit, sometimes making mistakes on the way

@ajmayhew Thanks for giving it your best shot pal. Like i mentioned ia is difficult however the checkpoint is after the first boss.. (I wanted it to feel like a reward to the player?) also i didnt mean for the secret life block to be an accidental kaizo... thanks anyway.

@carlos82 The two bowser jr are the final bosses! Gj for getting that far Hope you can finish it

@GrailUK as I played through your levels they seemed familiar and then I realised I'd played them before and liked them. I don't know where I got your levels from but I thought I'd leave a comment here and say well done. I'm also making my way through this thread. You should do some more courses, yours were fun.

@Daedrill loved your chocobo theme tune. Great song. The 'castel' course was good, I just felt the whole finish the course as fire Mario was a bit unnecessary, especially when the chances aren't made all too clear. Does that make sense? Still a good course otherwise.

And then I made the mistake of trying your Yoshis red coin hunt. It was such a hard level but after maybe 2 hours I got all the red coins. And then I died in the new room and you know it took away all the red coins I gathered as well as the key and it was just heartbreaking. Why put the boss there at all? Seriously dude, no wonder why no ones completed it yet. I might try again but man that was hard. And then to die and lose the progress, no recurring power-ups for the boss, yoshi fine but after a parachuting galoomba it's just harsh. Just, no. Seriously. No!

@LordJosh done, I doubt my record will hold up though 😂 a combination of not quite getting the last boss and a 2 year old trying to interfere. Fun level which is tricky but flows well, I'm not sure the last boss needed the added jeopardy of the blinking blocks though. Really enjoyed that one

@andysixx that would be great, using the kart for a precise run is a great idea and I'd love to see more of it!

@ajmayhew i reploaded the kart lvl! I have varied the jumps with the off on buttons and the initial jump is much easier! There are more indications. Thanks for the tips!

Hi everyone!!

I bring you two new levels, one that I have re-created (Mario Kart Tricks), which is a race against the clock, where you have to hit the buttons off on to advance.
The other level is called house of madness n.1, where you have to use the new skills of the new Mario to reach the goal, there is a trick that gets crouched! At the end of this you will find the cat mode!

Thanks for everything and enjoy!

Recreated the opening sequence of "Secret of Mana" somewhat for my level here:

“Secret of Mana 聖剣伝説2“
VBJ-W8V-21H

It's gotten no traction with a 0% completion rate so far. I don't think it's that hard, but it does help if you know how the opening of Secret of Mana goes. Feedback appreciated!

@misskitten After your feedback I made some changes to the level and reuploaded it, I have:-

1. Moved the position of the two Goombas
2. Changed the dynamics of the jump, made it bigger, but added more space and removed the on/off buttons
3. Changed the trigger of the falling wall to a Thwomp and on/off switch
4. Change the ground to donut blocks to keep the player moving to get them ahead of the Grinder/boulder
5. Removed some blocks and slightly changed the timing to make it easier to escape the Kamek

What do you think?

MarioBrickLayer

Hey everyone, after getting some feedback from @misskitten I have made some changes and reuploaded my level based on Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark!

I tried to recreate parts of the movie including:-

1. Journey to the temple
2. Dangerous temple floor to get the idol
3. Jump over the pit and get under the falling wall
4. Run faster than the boulder
5. Escape the Havito villagers
6. Find the Well of Souls and get the Ark
7. Find your way out of the crypt
8. Get past the big guy near the plane
9. Chase after the Ark
10. On the island see the power of the Ark unleashed!

Let me know what you think!

@carlos82 Your a legend. Thanks for finishing it and thanks for the feedback.

I thought I'd do something to ramp up the difficulty with it being the final boss so i thought an on off gimmic would work?

I do intend to keep some of my levels difficult but not cheap or too trolly - like I say, its my second level.

I'll try and use the feedback to improve my next few levels. Thanks again

LordJosh

Daedrill

@Lavatwilight wow thanks for the awesome feedback. I work at a much fairer level atm then i will change the end and the cheese in the second room in yoshis red coin hunt. I playd it so much that i didnt realise that it is that hard and unfair. So sorry for this, that wsnt my intention. I will post it again after i changed it.

In bumbums castel i just was messing around with clear conditions. And i have to change the end of chocobo metal bc there are two notes missing :/

@ajmayhew No, it was fair critisism. There's always things I could do better, and it helps knowing that with future levels I'm guessing you maybe ran with the P-switch on the other side then since you managed to leave the button in the "off" position (this would leave the P-switch stuck between the sloped conveyerbelt and the flat one). I dunno how you managed to do that, kinda impressed, lol.
I see nothing wrong with putting in non-essential stuff in a level, as long as it's fun for the player. So far I've only done this in one level, being Winter Wonderland, since you can choose which path to take. I could have just made it about the slopes and ignored everything else, but I wanted to make it feel like a proper world without specifically forcing the player to do it all

@MarioBrickLayer sounds good, will get back to you once I have played it Right now I'm sneezing too constantly to try and play anything, lol.

Daedrill

Well i reuploaded 2 levels

I added some missing notes to this
Chocobo Metal FFII 2.0 !!!Run!!!
B07-HNN-8QF

In this one i deleted the boss room in the end and got rid of some cheese. Its still pretty hard but no key death anymore.
