@FishyS It must've been a glitch. I captured a 30-second chunk of the wait on video, but it seemingly resolved on its own after. https://youtu.be/I-N39mYl4lE?si=NOUGqJxlrKwQNnsZ
Still an excellent game, but I'd have to give it a 9.5/10 with how my nitpicks add up.
Your criticisms are all fair, although if you're giving decimal scores I would argue no game has ever deserved a perfect 10.0/10.0. Maybe the occasional 9.8 or 9.9. The 9.5 seems very reasonable, but on a 1-10 rating I will likely round it to 10. I'm a little hesitant because I've only ever given 2 Switch games 10 (out of literally hundreds I've played), but Wonder-- even with slight imperfections-- is still one of the most polished games I've ever played.
I'm sure many will disagree but based on Nintendolife's definition of 10/10 I think Wonder deserves it:
"Of course no game is ever truly perfect, but a score of ten indicates that it is an outstanding example in the current climate of games. We don't dish this score out lightly, this is a genre defining game that we absolutely feel you should own."
Personally my GotY, although in terms of awards I know best family game is probably its only chance.
@PikaPhantom Super weird about the glitch. Of the reviewers and people I've seen talking about the game, that's the first I've heard about any glitches at all. I wonder if that one happens often.
A 10/10 in the purest sense (for me at least) would be something like Tetris or Picross in that it feels fully mechanically realized and timeless regardless of platform. Then there are the 10/10s that feel so groundbreaking while also doing so much right that any lesser score feels hard to justify (Advance Wars and the original RE4 for example).
There's man all over for you, blaming on his boots the faults of his feet.
Honestly I don't think it's a 10. I can see the case for people arguing it is and I can see the argument for, and some respects agree, that this is the "best" 2D Mario game since Super Mario World. And I love me some 2D Mario. But it's not a 10. Personally if someone asked me to go back and put out a list of the best games on Switch it might not make the top 10 for me. And if I'm honest, for me, it probably lands behind Tropical Freeze and Mario Maker 2 for 2D platformers
Don't get me wrong, it's great and it is very refreshing to have something new for 2D Mario given almost two decades of largely the same style for 2D Mario. It's just..... not a 10.... maybe a 9. Certainly great but not, IMO, a must purchase game for anyone who has a Switch
10/10 for me, just got to world 3 and the game has been a absolute blast so far.
Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)
Oh yes! 100% finished and every medal earned. The last challenge was a good challenge. That last badge is hilarious. I love it and I think it is a really nice reward. Definitely give it a try, when you get it.
Overall I really like this game. Another great Nintendo jump and run.
Tomorrow I will start Sonic Superstars for more platforming action. Here we gooo!
@Jhena Nice a fellow Superstars and Wonder buyer!! Bought both day one, didnt get to beat Superstars before wonder came out so i will finish Wonder first and then get back to superstars!
Superstars is pretty good I would give it an 8/10.

How are the bosses in the game? I've heard that there aren't that many, and that most of them are just Bowser Jr.
Without getting into spoilers, they're just ok. And yeah, there aren't too many. They aren't too exciting but that is pretty par for the course for Mario. The airship levels are quite fun though.
@Jhena Thanks!! Wonder continues to surprise me as I start the 5th world.

@blindsquarel They are decent to say the least.
I wish they would have done bosses like the original NSMB on the DS.

Finished it tonight. I really can't think of one problem with the game.
Minor gripes I can think of are not doing a triple jump into a flip like mario usually does. Not a big deal, but I always enjoyed doing that. Same with running one direction then pivoting and flipping. It would've been nice to do that in this game as well.
Second minor gripe. Sometimes getting royal seeds in certain worlds seemed easier than others.
Other than that? Nothing at all comes to mind that I could complain about. The game was darn near perfect in every way for me. The level design, the power ups, the animations, the graphics, the music, the sound effects, and the boss battles, all bangers. I adored this game from start to finish.
I need to go and actually finish mario world now. Sadly, I've never completed it. As it stands, SMB3 is my GOAT. Wonder is a close 2nd.
