Topic: Streets of Rage 4

Gotta say I absolutely love the new music for Streets of Rage 4. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it has grown on me immensely and now I think it's fantastic. The home screen music alone is excellent and I could listen to it for hours on end.

I love how the music is synced with the game play too, like when the prison doors open and the bad guys emerge and the music drops a whole new level of beat to go along with the action. It's really great music, and it's well executed throughout.

I just bought the mp3 soundtrack off of amazon, that's how good I think it is.

Been playing streets of rage 4 and for the most part loving it! The music goes from pretty awesome at times to bland and forgettable other times. I still think the original SOR soundtrack is the best! Thank goodness the retro tracks are available too! Everything else is great though! I do miss the cop car special move where it would zoom up and rain a wall of fire down on your opponents. it is referenced during a boss though.

Well now that I'm on a beat em up kick time to play some Double dragon, Final fight and those old Nes Turtle games! Oh and would somebody port Double dragon Neon to the switch pretty please? That game deserves more recognition after IGN trashed it and said beat em ups were a dead genre. The fools! Too busy playing COD i guess. Talk about a genre that needs to die!

You can do the cop car special move. You just gotta unlock Axel from Streets of Rage 1 and then you’ll be able to use his classic moveset.

Oh well scratch that off my complaints then! Awesome news! I had a feeling but wasn't sure. I've only unlocked adam so far. Any unlockable music or sound test?

Merge Games will be publishing SoR 4 physically in Europe.

A nice option for those who don't want to import physical copies from either Murica or Japan.

@Zeldafan79 I don’t know about unlockable music, but the entire roster from the Streets of Rage trilogy is unlockable/playable, except for the kangaroo guy, I believe.

I've been sitting here all week thinking "It's complete BS that a game of this calibre only gets a 'LRG' style release!" and lo and behold... it's getting a wider release. Just pre-ordered from base.com.

Well I've finally unlocked all the characters! Guess I'm done unless there's unlockables for beating boss rush or arcade mode. Can anyone confirm?

I know right? I was so worried they'd screw this up somehow but they didn't. We all remember what happened with that other part 4. You know sonic 4 😒 All those promises about going back to the roots and so on. So yeah anyway streets of rage 4 rules!

@Zeldafan79 Unless you managed to get all the trophies, achievements or whatever they are called then yes you are pretty much done.

Never cared about achievements or trophies. I prefer unlockables.

I've already put 60 hours into this game so far, and I'm not done with it. That's more time than I've put into Zelda BOTW or Mario Odyssey. Yeah... it's easy to see why Streets of Rage 4 is GOTY for me.

I'm trying to beat the last stage now on hard mode, almost there, but keep getting my butt kicked. I've played through the whole game with retro graphics, but as soon as I beat it I'm going to replay it in very hard mode but with modern graphics. Will be like playing a whole new game, sort of.

I am seriously thinking of getting this game on Switch if nothing more for the retro graphics cause for some reason they left that option out of the Xbox version. But part of me doesn't want to have to start over.

@Tasuki If I was you I’d buy the Switch version. It’s cheap and too good not to have the best version available. And the retro graphics are just awesome; the classic characters blend right in in this mode. Really makes the whole package perfect.

And for me, seeing as how many times I’ve played through the original SOR trilogy, I will likely replay SOR4 many times over. This game is very replayable.

I own a OneX too. I don’t have gamepass, but even if I did I’d buy SOR4 on Switch, just to have the best version and portable to boot.
