I really wish the current character designer of Story of Seasons consider the muscle guy bachelors for next games.
I want to see handsome muscular guys as my husband, like Owen from Tree of Tranquility (They ruined the Owen's body proportion on Animal Parade).

I'll be very interested to hear feedback on this one once it comes out. I really enjoyed the Mineral Town remake, but this one looks and feels a bit different to me, and I'm not sure in a good way. I will definitely buy it if reviews are at all positive, of course.

Some new gameplay footage out. These cows are huge y’all. At least I know you have to fix up buildings before the animals move in but now real work involved beyond that.

@cuteboy85
Buy the USA / Europe / Australia version and you will be fine since you understand English.
Better not consider Japanese version as Japan have different grammar and vocabulary for Kanji texts if you compared with Chinese grammar and vocabulary.
Also, you can teach your Mom about basic English words.
Nothing wrong by learning other languages, better get to used it.

Edit: Wait, you are from Indonesia ??
Same like me.
Btw, masak sih your Mom cannot understand English ?
Kan bisa diajarin.

Btw, to find Japanese Switch games in Indonesia, it is nearly impossible as Indonesian gamers just want English games by majority.
Not to mention the price that you must pay for Japanese version of Pioneer of Olive Town, even if you try to find from Tokopedia or Bukalapak, Nobody will sell Japanese games from there as only Otaku or certain peoples who have interest with Japanese things will probably buy.
Better consider the USA / PAL version for yourself as i have checked the pre order from USA eshop, the languages were English, French, Spanish and German. No Chinese language option. You can teach your Mom some English words.

Apparently Japanese players aren’t quite in love with the game 😕

Some of the complaints I’ve found around include:

  • people finding the game being too mechanically simple and complex at the same time
  • there being too many items to hoard
  • you needing to place way to much stuff littering the farm and causing the game to slow down
  • clunky outdated menu systems
  • boring character interactions, apparently the npcs even repeat stuff amongst themselves
  • reduced emphasis on farming, with other activities being much more profitable
  • to make the previous one worse, apparently crops themselves are the biggest source of performance issues
  • and the lack of festivals

The game being slow and repetitive kinda reminds me a bit too much of A New Beginning, which immediately makes me wary about this one... I was considering buying it with the bundle discount, because the idea of this game sounded very appealing when it was announced, but for now I think I’ll just wait and see.

@Eel
Yea, I saw some of those complaints in the NL article. It's really upsetting because I was thinking about getting this game, but some of those specifics really take away from what I love in a Harvest Moon game.

Some of my absolute favorite parts of HM are the festivals and relationships, so to hear that those things are weak is a deal breaker for me. Well, that combined with having so many gadgets and stuff to place on your farm to tweak items... ugh... that's the real deal breaker. I hate that. The constant crafting and needing of machines that modify stuff is one of my least favorite things about Stardew Valley, as well, and it sounds like it's even clunkier in this game.

I'll just stick to the Friends of Mineral Town remake for now. I was thinking of doing another completionist-style run-through soon anyway.

In Stardew Valley at least it's very quick to take and replace the items in the makers. I saw a bit of gameplay and in this one it's a full on menu every time.

Older games in the series have had it like in Stardew Valley before, so I wonder why didn't they go with the "hold the item and press A" method to speed things up. Maybe in this one you can't hold items? I don't remember if I saw that happen in the video I watched.
