Topic: storedowney - anyone bought from them?

Just seen an advert on fb for a switch controller that, on the face of it, looks like it could be what I'm after.

However, the site looks pretty shady to me and I'm suspicious of the fact I can't find a trace of the pad they're selling anywhere else online.

The fb ad has a load of people saying they've got theirs, and its good. The accounts don't scream "fake" themselves but who can say?

Anyone bought from the company, or get one of these "grippads"?

You should do a internet search of reviews or reviews of people that bought from them. FB isn't a reliable source to as that could be a Troll seller making fake FB reviews. If there isn't another source to FACT check the site or reviews of the products they sell then it would stand to reason.
IF it smells too good then something wrong aka FB reviews should be taken as not reliable.

Yeah I've tried digging around online and not come up with much which is why I thought I'd pop an ask in here.

It's not a "too good to be true" situation exactly. The product is quite expensive; the shipping times are quite long; the facebook comments are reasonable and aren't from obviously fake accounts... but something does smell funny to me.

It's mostly the fact that I can't find the product for sale anywhere else (tried doing reverse image searches etc and got nothing). I also can't find any independent reviews, for either the store, or the product.

I've removed direct links just in case.

For future reference, it would be better to assume anything advertised to you on facebook from a shady online shop is a potential scam and avoiding them, instead of giving them further free advertisement here.

I'm not sure this thread would serve as a particularly enticing advert, but sure.

In any case, for the benefit of anyone else that might be looking into them: I have actually managed to track down a pretty reliable buyer testimony. I found them leaving a negative review somewhere and complaining about their package not having turned up. However I was able to speak to them and they said that it did eventually arrive after delays with international freight, but that the quality wasn't great.

So in summary: not a scam, still probably best avoided.
