Topic: Splatoon 3

Salmon Run is really difficult at profeshional without 4 dedicated players.
Me and my friend with 2 randoms is very hit and miss. Would be much easier if we had 2 others to comunicate with on discord. Weapon loadout also has a lot to say.

There really should be a difficulty option, or the ability to use your own weapons or something...but yeah, I think I'm done with this game. I don't want to say that I feel like I wasted my money, but...really wished I could just get a refund on this game. -.-

Do you have Sea Snails already? You can't upgrade with out them at Murch. And like said, you can upgrade for Coins in the shops if they offer the same gear.

I'm glad the connection issues are getting fixed. I'd say about 30% of my matches have ended in communication errors, both in the lobby and in Salmon Run.

I noticed something. Every post I saw online people having connection issues were from NA. Maybe it has something to do with that? Maybe because it's more crowded.

@Budda Splatoon doesn't have dedicated servers though if I'm not mistaken? The only part where region seems to play a factor is during Splatfests and even then, wouldn't it make more sense for it to be Japan having constant connection issues when it's the place where Splatoon is most popular (just look at today's sales article for proof of that)? Though I'm pretty sure it's also been happening over there based on the fact that the JP Splatoon account tweeted out how they're working on a hotfix for the online so maybe I've just been getting really lucky (I am Irish after all: it's our stereotype).

Yeah, the fact that King Salmon boss is on a timer, adds to the difficulty. I think one of my successes was when hazard level was below 80%, when I was still on my way ranking up. As TommyTendo mentioned above, all 4 players on your team likely have to be proficient at Salmon Run - know how to prioritize enemies, help keep ink on the ground when other players may have a weapon that can't lay down tons of ink, keep a keen eye out to rescue splatted teammates. I do those things, and keep firing my weapon at King Salmon as much as I can. When you keep firing at king salmon, you'll see king salmon's health slowly taking hits. Throwing boss salmonid golden power eggs maybe does the most consistent damage, especially if you have a weaker weapon, but the damage the eggs do still only chips away at king salmon.

I'll try to see if I saved a 30 second clip from fighting one.
EDIT: I found one clip draining the last fifth of king salmon's health, and winning, but this clip was definitely on the easy map Gone Fission Hydroplant, and the hazard level was 42% (easy mode) - there was no swarming of enemies in this case, which isn't realistic for showing the boss battle. Also the clip shows king salmon getting defeated, which could be a spoiler? Well, he dies, there's nothing crazy to see. If someone wants to see the clip, I'll upload it.

@Fizza I love how Nintendo is about 6 years late to the dab but they are just fully committing to it at this point.

But yeah you KNOW I am grinding my catalog level for this masterpiece.

@Fizza Now there's incentive to spam using Battle Exeprience Up food tickets. I already used the one I got in single player.

When we reach some level, Merch's Star Power option will unlock, and I think? we can add slots with money. So, we don't have to depend on super sea snails. I'm level 9, and I don't think it's unlocked yet.

@WoomyNNYes Does experience up help boost the catalog level up faster too?

It does still cost Super Sea Snails to boost star power. You can see what you need to pay for all of Murch's options in the top left of the icon.

With the new online structure I heard the server takes over something if a player can't hold the connection, because of bad NAT Type like C for excample. And you can connect better to other players.
Just something I heard. It's not fact.

@BenAV Are you sure super sea snails are still required to add an ability slot to gear? I saw someone with the same one-slot gear I had, but they had two slots.

I don't know. That would be great if it did.

@WoomyNNYes If you find a piece of gear that you already own in the shop, you can pay money there to upgrade it. Through Murch it's snails.

Anyone here know a good place/website to get the Splatoon amiibo (don't mind which ones) here in Ireland? I've been very jealous of all the amiibo gear I see online and wouldn't mind grabbing some for myself, but almost no IRL shops here in Ireland sell amiibo, let alone of the Splatoon variety. I've been considering pulling a @WoomyNNYes and just grabbing the code cards for them but if anyone else has any other suggestions, let me know!

Also, whilst I'm here, I may as well ask another thing I've been wondering: could someone link the song that plays during the very first level of Story Mode? I don't want to look it up myself because yowza that's a sure-fire way to get spoiled on something else but it's such a bop that I'd love to be able to stick it in my playlist. It also played during Story Mode's reveal trailer linked here if that helps:
