Make sure to grab the keychain(s) quickly once they become available if you want them in case the stock is pretty limited. They were gone really quickly from the Australian store. My Wisdom one arrived in the mail a couple of weeks ago.

Splatfans, help me out. I have taken a headfirst deep dive into Splatoon lore and the Fandom, and I love it here so much. The catch is, I've never owned a Splatoon game (technically I have the Wii U game, but I don't think much of it). Should I spend the 60$ on Splat 3? I love these Squidkids so much, but every single time I've had the money to buy games something shiny gets my attention first. Do you think it'll go on sale anytime soon? I want so bad to play Splatoon 3. Random question, where can I find the Splatoon community? I see their prevalence on Tumblr, but they seem absent everywhere else.

The SNES and the Genesis have their strengths. They both do what they do so well. Nothing beats the echoed SNES sound or the Full-Sounding FM synthesis of the Genesis. Did you know that the N64 had built in audio effects, like delay too?

@MetaCrystal You can see Splatoon 3's price history on dekudeals, they keep track of digital & physical prices for several stores. So far, I think only physical has gone on sale for $48-50 https://www.dekudeals.com/items/splatoon-3

If you had Splatoon 1 and didn't get into it, I don't know if you'll be enthused about Splatoon 3. Watch NL's review for Splatoon 3 to help you decide.

I personally love splatoon 2 & 3 - the single player, salmon run, turf war.

@WoomyNNYes thanks for the advice. I bought Splatoon 1 after Splat2 came out because it was dirt cheap, so nobody was really playing it when iCalendar around. I haven't played much of it. Is Splatoon 1 worth another look?

@MetaCrystal Ohhh, I see. In that case, get Splatoon 3, and let that be your first experience. Your first splatoon game will be the most magical, and the best time to play splatoon is during it's first two years while Nintendo is servicing it with Spaltfests and seasonal updates. Splatoon 3 is the most refined & feature packed of the Splatoon games. This is the only time Splatfests are held, and it has Salmon Run mode(one of my favorite modes). Splatfests are a weekend long themed event held once a month. All the game's environments & Turf War maps get a danceclub-party-like make over and special music, and it's surprisingly awesome. After the two years are up, Splatfests & updates will end.

Still having a lot of fun playing Splatoon 3 and I did not even play the card game or customize the locker much. Those shiny stickers look great. I want many of those.

After so long I finally meet one of those minimal players in my team again. Just making around 50 points and just aimlessly running through the map. I hope they have a fun time too.

Those disconnects do they occure when people leave the match voluntarily or are they just losing connection because of other reasons? I think I might have experienced a few disconnects during the Splatfest or none at all. But when the Splatfest was over it started to occure frequently.
Thankfully it is not really annoying. But if I were to play this game for hundreds of hours it propably would be.

To be honest, while stuff like fun weapon kits, new maps and general cool additions for Sizzle Season would be lovely....I just want some new hairstyles man XD

@Fizza I agree with you, if they had to cut back on equipment just to add new hair styles, do so! Please!

Splatoon 3 expansion pass is very high up in the discover part of the eshop, only ones above it are:

  • TotK (came out today)
  • ACNH
  • Fall Guys (Season 4 released on May 10th)

This is making me further think that Side Order may be launching with the next season.

@Dev9417 I can't remember, did Splatune 2 include Octo Expansion(Octotune)? I think I have both, but I don't recall buying them separate. Or maybe in only have Octotune.

I'm assuming Side order will have it's own cd sold later?

Filling in the catalog is fun. Really liking the content of this game. The only downside so far, they went too far with the weapon star rating grind. Customizing the locker is such a weird idea but I like it.

New season details:

  • 2 stages (1 new, 1 Splatoon 2)
  • 1 new Salmon Run stage
  • 2 new weapons
  • New music
  • 3 new modes which are being called "challenges"
  • New Tableturf Battle cards
  • Usual 100 tier catalog

The new mall stage was a surprise, and they finally made a new salmon run stage! Impressive. But what I don’t like is that they seemingly put Ronaldo’s signature celebration into Splatoon. The amount of 12 year olds that will spam that everywhere bothers me.

This is shaping up to be a great season! The new blaster looks super interesting, and the new stage definitely has potential. The Salmon Run stage looks great as always, which they always do. And Humpback was one of my favorites from 2, so I’m glad to see its return. Also, that MUSIC. Huge MK8 vibes from it. And MUTATIONS???? This has been something that’s been requested since the first game! Very interested to see if that’s exclusive to private matches or if there will be a way to play these via matchmaking. Only thing I want to get more info on is how many new kits we’re getting.

But yeah, this is shaping up to be an awesome season. Might not quite be enough to fully pull me away from TOTK but I’ll definitely have my fair share of the new maps and mode.

This news made me subscribe to NSO. The new map looks nice and it is great playing king of the hill on the old map.
