I feel like I have definilty been lucky on which splatfest I have picked, and I have seen some people saying they are not having fun, which I get, just losing over and over again might suck, and people don’t seem to like the tri color map, but I definite prefer it over the others, but at least you don’t have to play it.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

I knew it! I knew they would win! I just booted up the game, expecting Power to win, and I was completely right. They just destroyed the other teams in every category, too. I was on Courage, so I guess you could say that I was courageous enough to play in this Splatfest. lol
Anyway, congrats to Team Power. Good games, everyone.

So much for picking the losing team. I picked power because I thought it would be least popular and lose.
edit: On Splatnet 3, most of my switch friends picked courage. Then NL's poll article & it's comments looked, at the time I looked, I saw mostly courage support.
@WoomyNNYes Honestly, I always thought Power would be a popular choice. I've seen that a lot of people like the villains, like Ganondorf in this case, which may be a reason why many folks would pick that team. I actually have a brother who's like that. He would pick Ganondorf in Smash Bros., and King Boo in Mario Kart.

You know, I feel bad for people who get absolutely angry when the team they pick doesn't win, to the point that they give up on Splatfests for good. I wish they'd be more like me, I always pick a team and then work on getting the "Team Ruler" title (which is one of the badge requirements), and not care who wins (because all being on the losing side if you have "Ruler" is getting 21 Super Sea Snails instead of 24).
Speaking of which, can I say why I picked each team, beginning with the demo from August 2022?
GGs everyone.

@JadeKitsune Yeah I've been getting in the habit of making it up to Ruler, so I can get a healthy amount of Super Sea Snails in the end. My team lost, but this won't be the last Splatfest I partake in... it's up to them if they want to play in future Splatfests or not though. No need to ask for permission, by the way, you're free to say why you picked your teams. It's on-topic with this game and thread, after all.

@JadeKitsune Yeah, what MarioLover92 said. Infodumping is nice.

This splatfest reminded me why I love crossover splatfests so much. Not that the other ones are awful, they are just kinda very very uninteresting and uninspired. I hadn’t played Splatoon 3 in a long time by the time I entered the splatfest. It gave me an interest in the game I hadn’t felt in a while. You didn’t actually know a whole month in advance which team was certain to win (looking at you, stupid Frye biased Spicy Sweet Sour splatfest). You actually had a reason to fight for your team because it represented a beloved character. The Sweet splatfest wasn’t fun because literally over 80% of the damn playerbase was on team sweet. I chose Spicy because wins and losses don’t matter to me. But that splatfest was downright unfair and poorly thought out, only made with the intention of giving Frye an easy victory. I want splatfests with people spread across joining other teams instead of being forced to do mirror matches the whole time because 80% of people picked one team. Although the Zelda splatfest was a power sweep, the numbers were still relatively close, each in the early 30s to very late 20s for percentages. Crossover events rule because they are somewhat original
August 2022: Paper (I like drawing and I used to like the Paper Mario series until Nintendo destroyed it beginning with Sticker Star)
September 2022: Grub (I couldn't eat any fruits or veggies because of my food aversion, i.e. my hypersensitivity can't stand certain food textures)
November 2022: Grass (My first Pokémon in Blue was Bulbasaur and I'd planned to start with Sprigatito in Violet)
January 2023: Sweet (Spicy and Sour are a little strong for me)
February 2023: Dark Chocolate (I've heard it's supposed to be a little healthier compared with the other two flavors)
April 2023: Nessie (I... don't have any real logical explanation for this choice, mom kinda nudged me into this one after I partially considered "Aliens". Maybe with all the deep-sea creatures IRL, they must have some connection? IDK. I mean, green's my favorite color so maybe that one might've influenced me more)
May 2023: Power (Like what's-his-name said up there, the past couple of Splatfests with villains as the choice had evil winning, plus I kinda think villains are pretty dang cool compared with heroes, even though 99.9% of the time the villains HAVE to lose... no, I didn't get "thirsty" over Ganondorf's new design, I'm straight IRL anyway)
Wow getting a five star rating with every weapon can surely take thousands of hours. Today I beat my first big boss salmonide in Salmon Run. It was a cool fight. I like the new regular bosses. The old one where you have to throw two bombs in is still the hardest. The Salmon Run theme sounds exactly the same as in Splatoon 2.
This could end up being my favourite Splatoon so far.
@Dev9417 That is interesting for sure... I totally remember when the bad guys won in that S2 Splatfest. What I've also noticed was that during my time playing, I only had one mirror match in one of the open matches. The rest were either against Wisdom or Power. I'm a little surprised that Courage didn't even get the popular vote... even Heroes in that Smash Bros. Splatfest got it.
