Topic: Splatoon 3

I am SUPER excited for the Splatfest this time around. Not only am I passionate about spicy foods, but the fact that we are manually able to choose Tri-color is a game changer. Hopefully, they've polished up the mode enough to where it feels fair on all sides.

I still don't understand how tri color battles work. I need to find a helpful youtube video on it.

Is tricolor on for the full 2 days or just after the second half?

For how relatively bland the Splatfest art has been for 3 so far (especially compared to 2), the art this time art looks incredible.

So far I've lost every match including a 10x battle, pretty sure Spicy are going to be in the lead at halftime.

So this is my first official splatfest, what do the team get if they win?

Just had my first session during the Splatfest, and I did win a decent amount of rounds, but I think I had more losses than wins... this is gonna be rough. I did win a 10x battle for Team Sweet, though.

@novasoup Rats. Thought that since it's no longer dependent on the positions of teams, it no longer has to wait.

I wonder if anyone can help please? My friend & I are trying to play Splatoon 3 together, we're both online but when we click on the Splatfest Battle with Friends tab & click on each other's name it just says that we're both in a match ( we're not) & it won't let either of us join up. We're both on the same Spatfest Team. Is there any other way we can play together please?

@Snatcher Rewards for playing splatfest:
1) Conch shells = free shellout machine capsules. After you pick your team and get your shirt, you will start earning conch shells. For splatfest, and the week leading up to it, every time you level up your regular level & your catalog level, you will receive a conch shell. During spaltfest weeks, when you go to the shellout machine you'll have the option to exchange your conch shells for capsules. Use up your conch shells before the end of splatfest, or you will lose them!!. All earned conch shells will vanish at the end of splatfest. So use them up!! there's no benefit for saving them up.
2) Super Sea Snails - Everyone who participates in splatfest is rewarded super sea snails. You can use these with that Merch guy to add ability slots (star power), and also reroll ability slots. Sea snails are the only way you can add slots to to gear rewarded in Salmon Run, and gear from amiibo. You can find a splatoon wiki that outlines how many snails are awarded for each Splatfest rank & whether your team wins or loses splatfest. Even if your team loses, you still win a bunch of snails. Winners just get a few more.

@Jen10 You can play together online if you create a room while in the lobby. When you look at the "with friends" menu, a button for "Create a Room" will be at the top. Create a room puts you in recruiting mode - this is when friends will be able to join you. If you don't fill a hole team, I think you can OK things, and the game will fill those slots with people solo queueing (people you don't know).

If you want to play a local wireless match, select The Shoal from the menu. When you press X, you'll see the options: Lobby, Square, Alterna, The Shoal, Grizzco.

Tricolor frequency has massively increased which is fantastic. Selecting the Tricolor option has only given Tricolor so far.

Team Sweet member here. So far all my Tricolour matches have been against Team Sweet. Did the other teams accept defeat or… (joke)

@octokid I’m team spicy and I promise we haven’t accepted any defeat! I think sweet players might outnumber spicy and sour by a lot more than expected.

@Grumblevolcano They made it so you could only get tricolor so it would be weird if you didn’t get it.
