Topic: Spiritfarer - praise and a probl

I am confused that a much anticipated and well-liked game like Spiritfarer doesn't have its own thread already?
It sincerely is heartwarming - a bit like a Ghibli film.
There are sometimes smaller problems with finding out what to do next or where you need to wait for stuff to happen, but in those moments it isn't any worse than any other farming game - you still find plenty to do.
I really love this game!

The real reason I made this thread was a problem though and I hope someone can help me:
After many hours of playing the game yesterday the setting somehow changed or a bug occured;
Usually if you farm crops you select the seed from your inventory and when you melt metal you have to choose the proper ore in your inventory.
Since yesterday most of the time the game automatically selects the first thing from the list.
So I plant carrots without having a choice - or melt copper, because the game doesn't ask me anymore.

It doesn't happen ALL the time though, but it is really frustrating....
Does anyone know if I can turn this off or is it really a bug?

Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.

@Tiefseemiez Since nobody has stepped up.... Gernally speaking, it may not be a bug. I've run into a similar issue with a game or two - certain menu items are restricted, or grayed out. I found the solution by watching a youtube walkthrough/longplay, watched the relevent level, paid attention to when they navigated their inventory menu.

It turned out that it was a function of the game, not a bug. I had some tool or item selected that resulted in something else being grayed out(couldn't be selected). Or it was location related; some inventory items/weapons were only usable in certain places, or certain times. The game or an NPC explained it once, early on in the game, but I forgot, or wasn't paying enough attention. And later on in the game, the game developers assume you know why.

Thanks, do you know where exactly you saw that? Like which youtube walkthrough?

I am not sure if we are talking about the same issue though - though I do think aswell that my problem might be a "feature" instead of a bug. Even though it seems to activate and deactivate at random.
I noticed this first when planting seeds - somehow sometimes it planted carrots immediately (the first item in my seed-inventory) without opening the menu at all.
It didn't bother me that much, but when I want to make glass or gold plates it is SO annoying that most of the time the game just puts the material for brass plates in the furnace and goes for it...
At the moment I stopped playing because of that issue even though I think I am 3/4 through and really loved the game.

Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.

With the physical release now in my hands, I fired up the game for the first time the other day. I quickly understood why this game rates so highly. I haven't experienced a game that uses art and music to convey emotions this well since Journey. Chill, relatively stress free busywork.

More games need giving hugs as a game mechanic.
