@Banjo- Hope you enjoy, I always loved how Sonic Advance stuck to the 2D gameplay, with a few new gimmicks, and the graphical style of the Dreamcast games (at least the 2D artwork anyway). Glad to hear you enjoy Sonic Advance.
Will admit, getting the special stages emeralds is my least favorite part of Sonic Advance 2, trying to get those special rings. It's easier in Sonic Advance 3, collect all the chao, and collect a key.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Banjo- Ok, IIRC, in Sonic Advance 1, it's a special spring hidden somewhere in one of the acts. Been awhile since I've played it, but I believe it's a special spring for it.

@Sunsy I guess I'll find some in later playthroughs.
@DarthNocturnal Sonic Generations was upgraded for Series X. Sonic Colours was remastered last year. Sonic Origins is coming in June. I wish that Sega remasters or remakes more games, tweaking them a little bit as they do. Heaven knows how frustrating the camera (in some 3D games) and retries can be. Sonic Colours didn't frustrate me on Wii but other Sonic games did and the fact that Sonic Colours was tweaked and remastered give me hope. What's next? Sonic Adventure? Sonic Adventure 2? Sonic Unleashed (planned as Sonic Adventure 3)? Sonic Advance Trilogy?
So everyone I'm wanting to get this but should i just go for the standard version or deluxe? I assume deluxe is just all dlc included correct? The price does seem awfully high for what you're getting.
Oh and considering what they did to Sonic 3 I'm not thinking 44 dollars is exactly a good deal.
@Truegamer79 The price difference is minimal so I recommend the Deluxe Edition. Digital Foundry's video is very interesting. As remakes, they are technically improved but a few things need to be fixed. The audio glitch I reported was actually Tails getting stuck and there are some omissions like the round shape of the tree's connection to the earth not showing like in the originals. A sharper video mode would be nice, too.
Biggest disappointment of the year so far, well at least on PC anyway. I resorted to playing Sonic 3 AIR and my word I can't believe a bunch of people who are getting payed nothing did a better job at Sonic 3 and Knuckles than the developers but in fairness I don't blame them I blame Sega and their usual incompetence.
So just wondering as it's not obvious as far as i can tell but is it possible to play sonic 3 as the stand alone not connected to knuckles version? I know you could play 3 and knuckles separately in the mega collection. If it's not possible in origins that's honestly a little disappointing. do the cheats on any of the games still work? I can't seem to get them working and i remember them vividly from the original releases.
Origins Plus confirmed for June!
Been pretty on the fence about getting Sonic Origins for a while now honestly. However, between not having played any other Sonic games outside of Sonic 2 AND the addition of TWELVE Game Gear games, I might finally bite the bullet!
€50 is a fair bit expensive for a retro collection though....
Currently MIA for exams; see you all in a bit! o7

@TheBigBlue
From what you've heard, meaning you've not heard the actual music tracks in the game proper.
They're not good, they don't sound as good as the prototype tracks that work in-engine on the original Genesis / Mega Drive hardware, and for Origins they opted to convert all of the in-engine music to pre-recorded tracks that introduced quality, volume, and playback issues that hurt the experience. I can vouch for that myself.
@TheBigBlue
It's something that I'm hoping SEGA take on board for the release of Sonic Origins Plus. The community has been vocal about their issues with the game on Steam and in other places, and the music quality and volume in Sonic 3 & Knuckles is high up there. It's not an issue limited to Carnival Night Zone, Ice Cap Zone, and Launch Base Zone either.
So they day has come and Sonic Origins Plus is here! Are you getting the upgrade or the expanded version separately? Have you tried the Game Gear games yet?
$40 is way too expensive for a handful of Mega Drive games, if we get a $20 Sale at some point maybe i will buy this, just to play as Amy, i already own all of these games lol
i enjoy Mario Kart Double Dash and Cups of Tea !!!!
@Sir_Axeman I get your point but the main games are remakes, not emulated like in other collections and there is also a Mission Mode which I found quite entertaining. I'm just a bit worried about the Game Gear emulation. I pre-ordered the original version of the collection but I haven't upgraded it yet.

anything above $20 for these games is robbery

To be honest, I nearly, NEARLY caved-in to buy Sonic Origins Plus but I realized that I got Sonic Jam on my Saturn & not spend $40 when that can be used for more important things elsewhere. Plus, the way SEGA handled the mess had angered me so much that I just had it.

DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
So, against my better judgment, I decided to double dip on this game (something I would've done for Sonic Mania Plus, but not this one) and now I have a problem with it, other than the Plus contents not being on the cartridge.
I can play both the physical version and the digital version. In hindsight, that sounds great, but now that I have the physical one, I don't want the digital one on my Switch. But it seems every time I archive the game it forces me to re-download the downloadable content AND the game, which I don't want downloaded. This wasn't a problem with Tetris 99.
Is there a way I can only re-download DLC for a game and not the game itself?
Those 4GB of the digital version could be used for something else.
EDIT: Yes, you can. You have to first delete the game (if you don't, it will keep asking to download the digital version every time you select it on the HOME Menu), then go to the eShop and download the DLC individually, even if you bought it from a Pack or a Digital Deluxe Edition.
