Unfortunately, the game doesn't look good. It gives the impression that it is using some sort of adaptive resolution, as the characters appear more... pixelated than the surroundings. The game itself is not that bad plus when it comes to MMORPGs, what choice do we really have?

@Kojin I mean i could just go back to DC universe online on Switch but there's the chance that it may be abandoned as well. But i redownload it again, and it's... Still cutting off at the start. Imma wait for a patch or a much needed update.

@teixeiras, there is indeed, though if you get a group together who plays regularly I’d just create a Discord server. Way easier. (Me, I tend to go solo in these games a lot of the time. I have nothing against squad play, but coordinating it can be a 🥙.)

Does this game has Cross-Save/Progression?

After the first cut scene when starting the game it does some loading then the software was closed because an error occurred.

Is anyone else getting this or know how to resolve it?

@SViper, I could be wrong but I don’t think so. Which, based on what others have said, may be a blessing in disguise.

Also, really weird that so many people are still crashing out right at the beginning, in what sounds like the same or a similar spot. I’ve yet to experience a crash at all, and almost all the performance issues I did experience have since abated. And I was in at what was probably the highest-traffic time, on a less-than-ideal wifi connection to boot. I wonder what’s going on with that crash. Hopefully it gets addressed soon.

Downloading now, I'm just gonna try it for the heck of it.

Resolution in handheld mode seems to be roughly equal to the worst areas of Xenoblade Chronicles 2–so, I’m spitballing somewhere around 384p—but for me the game is playing much more stably now than it did 24 hours ago.

Here’s a mild flex, which’ll double as an example of the game’s performance in handheld mode during an action sequence. (Note that this will probably appear slightly rougher than I experienced it; Twitter compression is a thing.)

Any one found a work around to the crash? I can't get 5-10 seconds into the intro video and it crashes EVERY time. I've tried re-downloading multiple times, and I even tried my kids accounts...with no luck.

@AndyD The error does not appear when there are less than 100 friends on the list.

So, I guess this is a new bug at the system level, then?

Until a month ago, I’d never heard of this bug. Now, this is the second software title I’ve heard of in a month to exhibit some version of it. (The MHRise demo also exhibited problems if the user’s friend list had more than 50 people on it.)

I find it slightly difficult to believe the two instances in such a short time, when afaik this had never been an issue before, are unrelated. Hopefully Nintendo takes notice and does something about it or advises developers about how to avoid it—since the problem seems more likely to be rooted in the friend list (a system-level feature), and less likely to be rooted independently in individual softwares.

Seems this game is doing well! Possibly too well, lol—it’s been a few years since I’ve found myself in a queue due to overloaded servers in a game! xD

I have noticed if you turn down all graphic settings or just off and turn fullscreen setting off the game runs a lot smoother and honestly looks better. I was crashing constantly and super laggy in zones with a lot of other people I did that and it fixed the problem. My game also doesn't error out and close anymore after doing so. I think it's just trying to do too much with the settings it's at.

Serenechaos

Northwind

@Serenechaos, that’s good to know. It might also be that the game has just stabilised a bit on the server end by now. I finally got out to the Red Coast today (at Rank 25, lol—just a bit late xD), and that was my first foray into a large MMO area outside the Observatory. I noticed no significant lag there even without having touched any of the settings.

@Diakuuji Had the same issue. Apparently you might have too many friends in your friend list. You might have to remove some people for it to work. I know, it sounds like a troll, but it actually did boot up completely after I did that and I got the tip from a Reddit user. Just keep your best friends and remove those you don't regularly play with.

I find myself diving deep back into this game. Its taken the place of Super Kirby Clash as part of my morning settle-into-the-day-get-ready-for-work routine. Half an hour of play every morning. Grab the daily log-in reward, maybe run a mission or open zone for a little while.

@Northwind

Do you by chance have any interest in beginning a pantheon?

We'd need one more person, but I would like to start earning the currency it offers asap.

@Magician, I would not be at all opposed if we could get the third.

I started a guild in ES:Blades too, lol, so that is the style of gameplay enjoy in this genre. I just know that people tend to go up and down in their level of activity—which is not something I have any problem with, but this is the first game I’ve ever played that puts a time limit on the recruitment, so I haven’t done it because it’s a larger risk here than in other games. I’d definitely want to know that we had 3+ people willing to sign in and join before popping the credits.

FWIW, if we did get the people then I’d be happy to pay the credits to form the pantheon myself. I bought one of the larger Founder’s Packs after realizing this game will be my “main game” at least until MHRise drops and that I enjoy it enough to play daily, so I’m currently sitting on around 4M credits with nothing to spend them on. Premium mode just gives a ridiculously excessive amount of currency, lmao.

EDIT: Actually, I have an irl friend who’s playing the game now too. I can ask him to be the third. He’s not likely to be super active longer term, but he’d get us off the ground and we could always recruit more later.

Ah yes, the benefits of premium membership. I enjoyed those back on PS4. But for the Switch version I'll be thoroughly F2P, aside from the few days of membership the daily log-in reward or treasure chests throw my way. As for your friend being our third, that sounds fantastic. I was considering dabbling with alt accounts on multiple Switches to get things going if need be, but it appears that won't be necessary.

Just to be up front, my contribution to the pantheon would be sparse, little more than a warm body or a number. I doubt I would ever be available for adventure missions or raids or anything like that.

If your friend agrees to jump in all that would be left is the where and when for invitations I suppose?
