Too many dang issues. It won't charge to 100%. Sometimes it won't charge at all. The dock rarely works now, I tried the penny test and it's bent. some noticeable scratches on the back. Joy con synching issues as well.
It's like everything that coulda went wrong with my unit happened over time. Had it since launch and nothing but small issues, but now it's won't charge and dock is a piece of junk.
Oh and NOA has you send it in to some company in Cali. Not their repair center in Washington. So this should be fun ):
yeah i'll update so peeps in murcia will know what to expect...
kinda frustrated, cause i've been dealing with small issues like joy cons and the dock sometimes not working, but nuff is nuff. It finally came to sending it in... just as I was really having a blast with MK8, Puyo, and Binding of Issacc.
do you use the official charger into a regular wall port and not through any powerboard or anything?
I use the official adapter it comes with. I also use a surge protector. Especially this time of year where I live, lotsa big thunderstorms. So don't wanna risk if power goes out. I did try it out on a differnt outlet with and without the surge protector. I get the same results. It charges the switch directly, but not to full 100%. Maybe 90%; IF it will charge at all.. It now will only charge randomly.... The unit doesn't recognize its plugged in...
And the dock just completely stopped working.
so they use a company in Cali to fix it.. and they use UPS ground. might be 3 weeks if they send back via UPS ground... or even longer if i have to get a whole new unit.
pretty disappointed.. but this will give me time to focus on P5 at least and on play other PS4 games.
I assume when you say it won't charge, you've left it in the dock for a considerable time...?
When my Switch battery is run down to 1%, if I then connect it to a charging cable, the battery indicator comes up but there's no 'charging' indicator. It's only once I've left it for a while to charge that it will start displaying the 'charging' sign.
When the battery's that low, my Switch won't even turn on if it's docked until I've left it for a while. Which kinda confirms there's no battery bypass going on with the system power - if the battery dies then it looks like it won't power up until a new battery is installed
I've had to send my launch day switch in this week to Nintendo UK. Couple of issues i'm not putting up with!
1. a small piece of plastic had cracked off on the left joycon stick.
2. switch display screen was coming away from the bottom right corner.
3. joycons attached to the switch wiggle and wobble.
I've had a response back saying they're repairing and I should have it back in the next 3-5 days. It's only been gone since Tuesday but me and the kids are missing it already lol
