Hello-
So long story short. Our Nintendo switch died. Battery wouldn't charge, we couldn't power up via the ac adaptor. We send to Nintendo for a repair, and then said the repaired, charged us and returned the switch. What I believe happened was Nintendo just sent us a newer switch. Now this is no problem, except now we are missing all our saved Switch games, specific all Zelda Breath of the wild and Animal Crossing. These games have years of activities saved info i want back. So I get this error below screenshot, and Nintendo is not helpful. We have called 3 times and they have 3 different answers. So I believe i saved all the games on a SD card I have access to, has approx 40 megs of data.
So is there anyway want to extract the sd card and some how restore the switch? Im willing to go any route (besides working with Nintendo) what ever. I appreciate this thank u

Nothing much can be done if those saved were not uploaded to NSO cloud save. The SD only saves updates/DLC - saved data is on the Switch internal storage. Don't recall it being move to the SD cart yet.

Thanks for the quick reply I appreciate it. I just bought a new switch it has no games on it if , you think it would be possible to somehow transfer/ activate those games , those games , saved files onto the newer switch so we can play the older breath of the wild games( saved files) ,older Zelda games?

@jtara98 Saves are tied to the system itself. You need to have to either have saved to the cloud or have your old Switch to transfer the files.

@jtara98 Like they are saying above, game save data is only stored on Switch internal memory, not the microSD card. That surprised me, too, when I learned it, but that's how the Switch system works. (Game save data is also backed up to the clould if you had Nintendo Switch Online).
