I'm so glad I played for the Cybertruck. It plays and sounds great! Love it's motor sound.

@CaleBoi25 got Rocket League!!! I saw that.😁

Pro tips:
Turn On performance mode
Turn Off weather effects

In case the default camera settings are still crap. Here are my settings.
camera shake - Uncheck
field of view: 110
distance: 230 (if you wiff a lot, you can bump this down)
height: 110
angle: -3
stiffness: 65 (the lower the number, the more it zooms out from your car at higher speeds)
swivel speed: 5.5
transition speed: 1.6

Has anyone tried the Split Shot mode? It's a pretty good mode. Hits have more power, but your car cannot touch the other team's half of the arena. Although, if you do, your car touches their side & demos, you spawn quickly back on your home side - so, there's not a huge cost to dying. It's fun going on strategic suicidal aerials to the other side to try to hit or redirect the ball.

Although, if anyone is new to the game, like CaleBoi25, this mode may not be a good mode for newbs.

@WoomyNNYes Thanks for the heads up. I haven't played Rocket League (or many games at all to be fair) in what seems like forever, but might jump back in this week sometime. I tend not to play the non-standard modes that often as I'm usually terrible at them, but I'll give it a try.

Rocket League on the switch has been crashing frequently online since Wednesday of last week. Like, I can play roughly 2-5 matches, and it will crash as a new arena loads, or sometimes mid-match. I think I see reddit buzz that patch may be coming out today. 🤞🤞

@WoomyNNYes Hey, thanks for joining us! I was only able to squeeze in a quick round... You and my friend were definitely carrying me lol! That said, after playing for the past ~week I can see why you guys like it so much! Now I am just sad I didn't get into it early enough to get the Cybertruck... :/

@CaleBoi25 Yeah man!

And no matter how new you are, if you spend any time training, or you improve a certain skill, ball handling, or your positioning strategy, it's very fun & satisfying to take a new skill into a round of games.

As far as kickoff etiquette goes: Whoever is closest to the ball kicks off. If two players are closest to the ball, then the person to the left kicks off.(unless someone uses quick chat to say otherwise)

If you're closest to the goal at kickoff, it's smarter for you to stay there during kickoff in case the kickoff sends the ball straight at the goal. It may not happen often, but you'll see teams get scored on at kickoff because the teammate at net left for a big boost pad. It's a very preventable mistake. Blocking doesn't require the as much skill as aiming a shot on goal. Note: if the kickoff sends the ball to the other teams side of the field, that's a great time to hurry and get a big corner boost pad.

I genuinely didn't know there was such a thing...and clearly some of the players I've played with don't either.

I've lost count of the number of times when the kick-off formation is a single player (me) in front of the goal, with the other 2 just in front with no wide players - and neither of them go for the ball. Instead, both head straight to the corner for the boosts and give the other team a free shot - so frustrating. Although, not nearly as frustrating as one of your team mates using the "I got it!" quick chat...then not moving at the kick-off 😡

@dmcc0 Logic/strategy behind the kickoff etiquette: Only one player needs to kickoff. If two, or all three players, of your team all go for the ball at kickoff, then all three of you end up in one spot at the ball, your defense can be wide open, and it's the easiest time to get scored on.

If you get to a certain skill level most people are using the etiquette. I think most people that have gotten to a skill level similar to gold rank follow the kickoff etiquette, and everyone platinum and above is definitely doing it.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah, that's definitely not my experience! I'm usually around Gold/Platinum rank and often see players closest to the ball not going for it at kick-off in 3v3 - or players that are clearly furthest away still trying to get it. I see it often enough that, unless I'm the only player positioned in front of the goal, I always briefly boost off from the start towards the ball regardless - maybe only for a second - until I'm sure someone else is getting there before me.

@CaleBoi25 If you're still into Rocket Leauge, there are two training packs I like.

Basic Rebound Practice: 3DBA-229E-745C-429C
This was one of the first packs that helped me when I was a newb. It will seem tricky for a bit. The ball will fall, and you can hit it while it makes contact with the ground, which is a good skill. Or you can try hitting it higher up. It's up to you.

Ground Shots, Author: Paquito: I'm not typing out the code for this pack because you can find this one under the BROWSE tab, in the custom training packs page list. You'll see "Ground Shots" in the bottom half of the list. I still sometimes use this pack a bit before I play a game. This pack has 50 shots in it, which is a lot. I just warm up with the first 10 or so.

I'll also recommend playing 1v1 vs the computer in the Exhibition offline mode. It's a good way to get comfortable with getting the ball to the goal on your own. Start on easy, and bump it up if you want more challenge. "Pro" difficulty isn't as difficult as it sounds.
