Topic: Replacement for Limited Run Games

So recent I had a house fire which made the house unliveable. Luckily all occupants humans and animals got out just fine.

However a few days after the fire someone broke into the house and stole several things including my Switch. Inside my Switch was a copy of Samurai Shodown from Limited Run Games. All the extra stuff survived so I still have that. I prefer having physical copies.

I tried to reorder a copy but it says it sold out so it won't let me purchases another copy on their site. I am wondering if anyone knows if I were to contact Limited Run via Twitter or Facebook could I purchase another copy that way? Has anyone done this before?

@Tasuki No I haven't but they might replace it if you can proof it was stolen.

And also, Screw the a**** that stole your stuff, I mean there just has to be people out there that will take any chance they got to steal stuff, But you said your physical games are ok yes?

Did you also cut off your switch account on the switch, so he can't use any of the digital game's on it.

@Tasuki That is so horrible. I wish I had a copy myself and I would just give you one man. People suck, there's no other way to say it. Sure there's plenty of decent people out there but anyone who's garbage picking from a house fire( and I don't mean literal garbage) has absolutely zero class, respect, and morals. I wish I could help though dude, unfortunately I don't have that game. The only one I do have is SoR4.

@Snatcher No I haven't even unlinked the my account from the Switch, honestly I have had so many other things on my mind that I didn't even think to do that. Luckily my insurance will replace the Switch and I can get my digital games back but the physical one.

@NintendoByNature Yeah I was talking with my insurance agent about it and he was telling there are literally people who do that for a living. Tyhe use the emergency scanner apps on their phones and when they hear a call for fire that make a note of the address and a day or two later they hit the place if there's anything standing. And I would agree that it was professionals (if I can call them that) but they knew exactly what was worth something and what wasn't. They took my PS4, my Switch but left the Wii, and Wii U untouched. They left alot of stuff that wasn't worth anything untouched. But yeah total a-holes.

@Tasuki best bet is to buy a copy off of eBay,Mercari, amazon or Facebook marketplace. I doubt limited run would make one copy for you. You never know though untrue may have a few left.

As I said before I'm very sorry this happened. Even worse that your house got robbed, the people who do that deserve nothing less than eternal pain and punishment. Only way for you is up, but I really hope you can get everything back together. Stay calm, stay safe.

As for LRG... I haven't bought anything from them but I'd say contact them? Never know about exemption or otherwise.

The thing with LRG is that once the pre-order period ends it is over. They will not manufacture more copies again. The only period that they can be bought is the pre-order period. I think this is the deal they make.

1. Contract with DEVs to see if they will allow publishing.
2. Pre-order period starts and we give the funding
3. Then the manufacturing begins!
4. 4-6 months later we get the games we ordered.

However once a year I think they do a leftover sale of games that they had laying around.

But if you plan on going to eBay about it keep in mind that LRG copies are extremely expensive there!

@Zuljaras That's what I figured but I was hoping that they might have some laying around that I can purchase, as I said I just need the game itself not all the extras, those are still fine. But it looks like I might have to go the eBay route, honestly price doesn't matter to me right now cause Insurance will cover it, I just hate the fact that I will have to go through a scummy scalper.

Also they are not scalpers since they did not purchase the games so others can't have them unlike the cases with the PS5. Those are people that know what it will cost in time as those releases are really "limited" Everyone can order one but the catch is the order window

The limit on how many they make depends on us the players Unlike SRG where they make a fixed number of copies. It is actually a miracle that scammers are not raiding SRG releases Yet again they are not releasing big titles like LRG

First off report this to Nintendo as Stolen Switch and the Serial number and barcode will track that user down and they will get a Blue/White surprise. That's what you should do-that way when they connect to internet or any wifi Nintendo will find them. As for replacement you have to contact LRG about this but otherwise eBay is your only other choice.

I don't think there's any harm in asking LRG if they could supply you with a replacement. They'll presumably have made a few extras to cover for cases where a game is DOA or gets lost/damaged during shipping. While they wouldn't normally hand these out to just anyone, it sounds like you've been through one hell of an ordeal so they might take pity on you.

Mind you, if they've all already gone, even they wouldn't be able to help you. Once the initial run is done, that's it.

@Tasuki I believe there’s a way to unlink from your previous Nintendo Switch without having that system through Nintendo’s website (account settings).

@Snatcher yes they can you have to register with NIN and your MAC address is with them - how else did you think they found the first Switch that was Stolen in 2017 and showed online before they were every released. Internet does wonders to the mind when people think they can get away with stuff they are very wrong.
