I was wondering if anyone has experienced any problems with the new Switch model screen. I heard that it's possible to get "burn-in" if you use it too much with full brightness. I have my swuitch since 2020 and im waiting for the new generation so i can upgrade, but if that is still too far away from release, i was considering the option of buying the OLED. thanks in advance!

I don't think you have to worry about burn-in.

See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TMyUDKqWWI&t=10s

Essentially: yes, the screen can burn in...but this Youtuber only witnessed it after displaying the same image for 1 year +. This is far different from regular use, and I've not seen one report of someone experiencing burn-in from regular use of the Switch OLED.

At least 2'8".

@Buizel that video was really eye-opening. I guess i was just overreacting about the extent of this issue..Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

Even CRT screens did get burn as well-those green screens.

@SwitchForce ikr even my phone got some burn in mainly because it's old as heck, but seems oled screens are generally more susceptible to this.

@Yannis No, you're old phone most likely is an Oled screen. Normal plastic or glass screens can't get burn in.

@EllaTheKawaiiNeko If their phone has an LED or LCD screen then it's definitely still susceptible to burn-in, especially if it's pretty old. It being plastic or glass doesn't really have anything to do with it, it's more about the pixels of the screen itself getting worn out over time

When OLED technology first came out, burn-in was a pretty big issue that caused many people to avoid those types of panels. However, the tech has been developed to a point where now, it takes thousands upon thousands of constant screen time to notice any burn-in, which at that point, normal LCD screens could also start to see burn-in as well.

@StarPoint Yeah, but to be fair, it takes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooot to get burn in on LCD screens
