Topic: Pls help, epic account

Hi, I want to play an epic games game (dauntless)!but one of my kids linked their fortnite epic account to the switch with a rather unfortunate name and dauntless have given me this game, I have no idea how to unlink the epic games account as the original switch account that linked it has been deleted but the epic games account is still there. Please help if possible, thanks in advance

So, what happens when you try to play Dauntless, @Linney....? You presumably have your own Epic account so I'm not sure why the other one is a problem

I’ve never had an epic account before as never played any of their games but my daughter linked her account, with a one direction name tag lol, her switch account was deleted a while ago but seems the epic account is still linked, not sure if she linked it through mine but when I try to reset password with epic with my email (linked to switch) it says account not found.

Curious.... How do you get an Epic game without an account with them? Sadly, I don't know much about their systems particularly, so it'll probably be @WoomyNNYes who does

@Linney I'm not suere where to start, this isn't a scenario I've grappled with. I'm not sure if you just want to unlink the account, or if you just want to change the name. If the answer is both...... EDIT: these two issues at the same time make it difficult for me to tell you where to start.

If you can't change the name, the answer may be to create a new epicgames account with a new email address.

In Dauntless, you probably have to sign out of your daughter's epic account, and then sign in with your new one(with the name you want)

I'll also float the idea that you can contact epicgames support. I, and a couple others, have emailed epicgames Fortnite support and gotten help. They replied to me in 2-3 hours.

Hiya @BruceCM! When Rocket League went free to play, under EpicGames, I tried skipping signing in with my epic games account and saw the option to start a new game without using an email. But, I have no idea how that works, or if there are limitations. I closed & reopened the game and signed in with my epic games account, and that's the last I saw of that.

To Poster you want to contact Epic about account issues as NL and it's users can't access nor help with account issues.
