Hi
This may be a bit of a strange one and I don't know what's wrong. I was woken last night to my Switch lit up I think the screen was white. Being half asleep I just switch it off. This morning it's stopped working it wouldn't switch on no sound nothing. I have charged it all morning and I did a reset by holding the power button down for 30 seconds and then for 5 seconds. It briefly came back on but the screen was froze the cursor wouldn't move. Since then it's stopped working and it's fully charged. I suspect it's broken and don't know what to do. I have had it since March 2018, we have another switch it's working fine. If I have to replace it I have games on there that would need transferring as well as my account is that a thing I could do. Please help I have had an Animal Crossing game on there since the start and would hate to lose it. Thank you in advance

@LancashireLass I'm that sounds like hardware failure somewhere, as you suspect. If Animal Crossing is the one game that needs the eshop app to transfer game save data to another console, then you'll need that switch to work to perform that process.

I think you've done the right thing so far with the hard reboot (holding power button down for 15-20 seconds). But, I'd go on nintendo support, find the page for switch won't wake from sleep, and make sure there's nothing else for you to try. (disregard if you've done that already)

won't wake from sleep mode (edit: this appears to be the same troubleshooting page the post above posted a link to)

Your Animal Crossing save may also be safe if you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership and activated Animal Crossing’s cloud save backup feature. It’s something that you have to do manually, but if you did, you’ll be able to contact Nintendo to restore the save to a new console.

Hopefully they can get it to display to do this. Finally they helped ACNH users save their Island from disappearing under the ocean from global warming.

I went and searched - seems like they did get it going but I will have to reboot my save ACNH and see if I can backup the data.

With the NG Switch right around the corner, there's only one thing to do.
