Yea, the first one wasn't as bad as Hollow Knight, but I would also caution that it's not easy. I don't want to be a downer, but based on your experience with Hollow Knight I think you would encounter some very frustrating bits of Ori after about the halfway point.
Anyway, I bought Will of the Wisps last night and put a couple hours into it! Absolutely loving it. Basically more of what made the first game so awesome. My small criticisms of the Switch original remain:
Sometimes the environments are so detailed and lush that it can be difficult to discern what might hurt you and where you can go; this becomes even more noticeable when playing handheld on the small screen
The controls still feel ever so slightly floaty to me for a precision platformer, but I do get that Ori is a spirit and extremely light so it does kinda gel with the character
The initial game load did take probably about a full minute, but since then everything has been silky smooth, no crashes, no bugs yet, no long load times. When I suspended for a bit and brought the game back up, I did get a pop-up saying the game wad disconnected from the internet, but it didn't affect my game state or anything else as far as I could tell. Probably just for leaderboard syncing, I assume.
None of the criticisms kept me from loving the first game, and so far I don't see them ruining this one for me, either. I love the feel of the new first attack you get, and so far the pacing is more interesting than the first game.

Oh, sorry. I only read the beginning of your message and thought it was a response regarding the difficulty of the first Ori. So how was your over all experience with regards to performance? Did you encounter more crashes since your last message?
@dionysos283
Unfortunately, yea, I've now had two hard crashes and one time when I couldn't move after teleporting. I would say I'm about 5-6 hours in, but since the crashes happened I've put it aside to wait for a patch (which I just read they will have soon).
Kind of a bummer, and apparently the Xbox version also had crashing problems at launch. You would think they would have looked into that a bit more if it was already an issue with a previous launch.
I don't understand most of what Digital Foundry talk about but the upshot is that it's a very impressive port and one of the best on Switch -
But of course, the ultimate litmus test is the Digital Foundry comparison process, and in this respect the end result is highly impressive. The visual quality is remarkably close to matching the Xbox original, with just some of the original's sharpness lost. The presentation still holds up in docked mode though and the compromises made are even less noticeable when played in handheld mode. Of course, the most important piece of this puzzle is the performance - the promised 60 frames per second. I tested this myself using our tools and found that the team has managed to deliver just that for most of the experience, but it's not quite perfect. During gameplay, you may notice minor dips into the upper 50s from time to time. It uses v-sync so there's no tearing but you will encounter hiccups from time to time. Still, by and large, it's remarkably stable.
I played quite a bit on PC, but its even more enjoyable on Switch. Unfortunately I did experience my first crash in the game yesterday. May hold off until its patched before proceeding. At least they're aware and are committed to fixing the issue.
But ya, the game is spectacular. Even better than the first, and that's quite a statement.

Yea, I'm on Hades now until this games get a patch. I mean, I'm about halfway through Will of the Wisps and could definitely beat it now if I wanted, but the crashes do get annoying, and they were getting more frequent for me as I progressed. Fantastic game, for sure, but they definitely need to patch it and maybe give it a nominal sale or something to direct eyes back towards it.
In this case maybe ill wait for the physical double pack. I think its $40 and will of the wisps is $30. I already have blind forest but another $10 to have both as physical would be nice.
Does anyone know what the benefits are of signing into your Microsoft account in ori bf & WotW? The ms faq didn't say. I don't think it supports cross save at all. Achievements?
