Has anyone had issues with the UK Official online shop? I ordered the Special Edition of Metroid Dread in June, but I missed that the card I used was due to expire in August, I now can't change my payment details. Nintendo UK have told me the only option I have is to cancel the order, but the Special Edition is out of stock. This seems really backwards?!
Luckily it is still in stock and Game and Smyths, Game wanted £4.99 for delivery or in-store collection so I have ordered it from Smyths.
It seems really poor service, I wanted to order from them directly to show more support. Managing payment info is really basic stuff!!
I can't really help with the problem but as you want to support Nintendo it's worth mentioning it's not technically run by Nintendo themselves, it's run by the same people at Zavvi as an official partner.
I remember it took me almost a month to get a refund from Nintendo Europe, who are the customer service people you get diverted to when you have an issue with a product from the UK Eshop. While they were never downright rude, the glacial pacing and the fact they made me repeat myself over and over, made it one of the worst experiences I have had with a company.
I'm sure I've said this somewhere before, but Nintendo UK's customer service is horrible in general. It took them 4 months to "fix" my 3DS, which I ended up fixing myself. It seems they can't get the grasp of basic business stuff.
Your first anything is important; a memory you don't want to forget. That's what makes nostalgia such a fascinating concept. That's why many people enjoy games that have aged well.
I ordered some splatfest t-shirts, and there was some sort of deal on whereby if you did something first they also threw in some other little titbit. Well, I rushed my order and forgot to do the qualifying thing, so I immediately entered a second order properly and sent an email requesting to cancel the first order.
This was last year in early lockdown period I think. My cancellation email got no response and subsequently two sets of splatfest t-shirts were delivered. So I sent another email saying they needed to send me a return label because they failed to cancel my order.
More months went by. No return label.
Eventually, out of the blue, they refunded me, so I've still got the extra t-shirts.
TL;dr - I quite like the Nintendo store
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
I had a great experience with their Customer Serivce!
Then you are one of the lucky ones but the majority of people have had an awful experience with them heck I remember reading about a guy who purchased his daughter a switch for Xmas and it wouldn't work it was less than a week old and Nintendo refused to replace it and tried to charge him for repairs.

I can't tell whether that person is a bot or a troll, but I wouldn't worry about them too much. They followed me around the forum for a while saying everything Nintendo did was amazing, seems like they are doing the same with you here in this thread.
@YusseiWarrior3000 different individuals work with Nintendo customer service with different personalities. We have just been lucky, I wouldn’t really call it facts
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
I have only had issues since they have updated their website. Now, changing any personal details or cancelling pre-orders is a royal pain in the a&@se. It was never a problem before the website was changed
I have mixed experiences with the UK store. Sometimes they come through, sometimes they just suck. It literally took a year of me prodding them to resolve the fact that the Animal Crossing New Horizons pre-order bundle shipped without the pins that were meant to come with it. They kept telling me they'd get back to me then they just never would.
