At the moment i have the Switch pre-ordered on Amazon for 329.90€. But i found a particular store at 30 minutes drive from my home that allow Switch pre-order for 299.99€. Tomorrow i'll go pick it and delete the Amazon one. 30€ saved
In two weeks time I'll be having a nap preparing myself for the midnight launch. Weirdly they are opening at 11pm to allow for browsing! Like I haven't spent the last two months deciding exactly what I'm buying!
So, I really want a Switch. But I'm not really sure if I'm going to buy it at launch. I've called a few of my local game stores, and they all suggests that if I want to get the Switch soon, I should pre-order it or buy it pretty close to launch. The reason for this is because they say that it will sell out fast, and they are not sure if they are going to get more in stock for a long time. I'm not HUGE fan of Zelda (though Wind Waker HD is one of my favorite games of all time), but I still want it of course! I'm thinking of selling my Xbox ONE (I have a PS4 and I don't use my Xbox ONE, so it's fine) and get the Switch for a lower price.
In my situation, is it worth buying at launch?

@TechnoCharlie You've not really explained what your 'situation' is, you've just said you want a Switch and are aware it could be hard to get hold of if you don't pre-order. You've not given one reason not to order it, so just order it

@TechnoCharlie I think getting Breath of the Wild on Wii U and then waiting on buying Switch until the first Switch exclusive you care about is released would work best.
@Grumblevolcano Yeah, I've been thinking about that, but I think I've decided that I'm gonna buy one at launch. I want the best experience of Zelda as I can, and we're not far for getting Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well. Plus, Super Bomberman R and Puyo Puyo Tetris looks kinda cool. But thanks for the help anyway!

@jump I checked the US Amazon site around 8AM EST and it wasn't available.
@ChrispyNoodle Well I got a phone call after the January reveal as I'd preordered in November before the price had been revealed so they needed to clarify which colour I'd like. On the game app it shows everything you've preordered and how long it is till it'll be delivered. As I preordered at a store it also shows the store it will be delivered to. It currently says 9 days till delivery.
I'm having a terrible time trying to decide which case to get. I want one for Day 1, and even got as far as trying to order one today, only to find it was out of stock.
The Zelda case I like, apart from the gold bits are a bit too shiny, and inside the case looks fairly low on padding.
The Mario M case looks nice and study, has good storage, but is out of stock and more expensive due to some extras I might not want.
The case on Nintendo.co.uk is a bit bland, but I could accept that, but it only has space for four or five game cards.
And to top it off, I'm tempted to get one of those tempered glass screen protectors, but I don't know if the added thickness will cause problems with slotting into the dock.

Hopefully those kinds of screen protectors are designed to fit within the dock, or hopefully Nintendo accounted for possible added thickness when designing the dock. I'm gonna guess you'd be okay, though. I don't think it's as snug as it might seem. I hope not, at least
Hey everyone! As a Canadian and someone who ordered the Wii U far into its lifespan, I am trying to purchase the Switch on launch for the first time ever! Do any Canadians have advice on trying to pre-order (I check Amazon.ca and Bestbuy.ca about 2-3 times a day)?
If I were to show up to a bestbuy store on March 3rd do you think they would have it? I would preferably like to purchase on Amazon.ca because I can get cashback - do you all think they'll have more to sell online on launch?

Why don't you try a stock checker to see if any of those put up some preorders? I don't live in Canada, but that's what I'm doing to check for the Nes Mini.
