@kkslider5552000 crazy. The UK still has many release date preorders open (Amazon, the Nintendo store to name just two).

I went into a gamestop. They said the 1000 random pre-orders were out-of-store only. The company was going to select 1000 random people from those who are on contact lists about the nintendo switch. If you are one of those chosen then they will contact you. Wasted a 25 min drive to go to a gamestop to find that out.

I have a question: If I preorder a Nintendo Switch from Nintendo UK's online store, can it connect to an American Nintendo Account? And will that account access the American eshop, with USD currency?

I also preordered my switch from the UK even though I live in the US. I also preordered a US ac adapter so I wouldn't run into any issues. Should everything work fine as long as I have the US ac adapter?

Link_ToTheCraft you should not have any issue i think you just need to a different adapter and that would be it

I stayed up for the launch event. Most bizarre launch I think I have seen. But I still pre-ordered the Switch and looking forward to it on the 3rd.....,

GameSeek will be taking orders for the Switch for £199. The catch is they are not saying how many they will have available to order. Plus they are not saying when they will be taking orders at that price. All we know is they will be doing this before the Switch launch.

Today I made a decision on the switch. I currently have one on pre order for along with Zelda. However, looking at the games that are going to be released in the first 6 or so months noting really interests me other than Zelda and Mario Kart.

If I can manage to get one of these £200 Switch consoles from Gameseek then ill keep it. If not ill just cancel my Amazon order. Ill then buy one later in the year or next year hopefully a pokemon game will be available for it at that point.

Best buy near me did confirm a midnight release, however aren't able to say if they'll have extra units available. So I'll have to go back a couple days before to ask when they get their shipment.

I mean worst case scenario I can still go that night to pick up the pro controller, right?? That'd be weird but at least I'd still somewhat have the experience

I only have a pre-order on the console itself. I'll likely pick up a case on the day and I'll certainly grab a copy of Zelda. But I haven't pre-ordered them.

Zelda? I don't care about special editions so I didn't bother with that. The game itself I would prefer a physical copy but if I can't get it the eShop is always an option. Since digital distribution has become a thing I've set that as a kind of rule for myself. I never pre-order software, I never run around looking for games, I don't buy into pre-order bonuses. If I really want a game and I can't easily find it? I'll get it digitally.

With the case I know I want to get one fairly early on. I can wait a week or so if I have to but I'm definitely getting one eventually. But I don't see the need to pre-order. Really if I'm getting a case I want to see it first. There are plenty of options around and really that's the one thing retail stores are still good for. So getting a pre-order on a case seemed a bit counter-productive.

As for other accessories, controllers and so on. I don't see any reason to get them until I have software that's going to make use of them. As it is the only games on the immediate radar are Snipperclips and Zelda. Neither of them really demand extra controllers. I'll get them when I get them. No rush.

I've had mine on pre-order since late January from GAME and am guaranteed one on launch day (even had a choice of grey or neon), but I am just sooooo conflicted as to whether to go ahead and get one.

It's not the price per se, as I have £410 and counting saved up on a GAME gift card and £33 in Reward Points to use, it's just, with such a small, tiny amount of time to actually ever game due to work, children, family etc, I still have plenty of Wii U games to finish off, about 6 of which are still shrink wrapped and haven't been opened or started at all yet. This is not to mention the unfinished and unopened and unstarted games I also have for the Xbox One (though I try not to take these into account as the difference in games is obviously like night and day, and anyone that likes most genres of games knows that sometimes you're in the mood for shooting the hell out of someone, and other times you feel like jumping on a Goomba).

Therefore I can't help but feel that I will buying a console on launch day, at launch day price, and not really playing it that much though as I try to finish off my Wii U backlog of games. Plus I still feel that there is a lot of mileage left in my Wii U and it definitely will not be traded in or packed away, so there is part of me that is just thinking WAIT, WAIT WAIT!!!!

Slightly weak launch day game lineup doesn't help matters either really, but is not really my biggest issue, as just one game would be more than enough to keep me busy with the time I can dedicate.

Sigh Confused and conflicted. I've never wanted a console this much since the N64, but I have never had less time in my life to actually game. Catch 22

@GuruOfGreatness I'm in a similar boat however I'm definitely getting it Day One. I have a hectic life and a long commute. The flexibility of the console means I will actually get more game time as the console will be playable whether I'm at home, on the road or in a hotel.

@jump - I got the money off via a new signup deal (using some code) with very.co.uk - £30 off a £300 spend. Plus when you spend that much they give you 0% credit for 12 months, so I can spread the payment how I like. It pushed me over the line in terms of getting Zelda Switch instead of the Wii U version, and if I wasn't going to get the Switch version, there wasn't much point in me getting a Switch yet.

But having said that, @GuruOfGreatness, now I'm committed to Day 1, I don't have any regrets. Unless you're thinking of getting a used Switch, you gotta ask yourself how much they'll come down in price by the time you're ready. I figured, probably not a huge amount, maybe 25% if it struggles, but no more. But if you buy Day 1 you get to quieten that 'Switch Itch' and get to lay your hands on it immediately. I don't expect to use mine as my main console until used games are at a more attractive price, but I'm just gonna enjoy having it, enjoy BotW, and then see what happens, and of course I can take it with me wherever I go, so if I do get time away from the family for any reason...

@gcunit

Well this is just it, because I know damn well I will get that "Switch Itch" and end up buying one late Spring maybe early Summer when I see how incredible they are.

I'm not even worried about getting "burned" like some do with their launch Wii U's because of how it turned out, coz I still love the thing and it has given me tons of amazing play time, with tons more still to go.

I personally don't do pre-owned full stop, so wouldn't be looking for a cheap second hand one. Like I said, it's not the price per se, I just worry that if I can hold off until this Christmas, which let's say for arguments sake is when I would probably finally start to find time to play on the Switch if I were to purchase day one; that I wouldn't be able to find the console with a couple of games for £250-£300. I would be annoyed with myself for not being able to wait

Last time I felt like this was in 1998 when I couldn't decide whether I wanted a Playstation, Sega Saturn or N64 from my parents for Christmas lol.

GuruOfGreatness

gcunit

@GuruOfGreatness I know what you mean about being annoyed with yourself if it can be had a bit cheaper by Christmas, but instead you could just be pleased with yourself for supporting an exciting innovation from Day 1. If BotW is the only game you play between now and Christmas, that wouldn't be so bad, would it.

@Mellor2000

See for me, I don't really have a commute, and I cycle each day anyway lol.

I could always play it at work if I choose to, but that's what my Vita and 2DS are for.

I would use it just like my Wii U, big screen when I can, off screen play if I want to play whilst my wife watches Big Brother.

Off screen play was the biggest selling point for me for the Wii U, and a huge one for the Switch too.

I wouldn't have got half as much gaming done of it wasn't for off screen play, even if its just for 20 minutes or so.

@gcunit

Not at all, and I can assure you that much like pretty much any open world game, I will NEVER complete it, regardless of how good it is lol.

Plus I'm also getting it for the Wii U as I have had it pre-ordered since 9/3/15 and I'll be damned if I don't buy the farewell game lol.

I'll be honest, I could see myself playing Bomberman more often on the Switch lol.

GuruOfGreatness

gcunit

@GuruOfGreatness You're mistaken... the farewell game, in my book at least (currently), is Darksiders 1. Get that instead, it's cheaper, giving you more funds for the Switch!
