Surprise, surprise....GAME UK still haven't marked my Switch & Zelda game as dispatched/shipped yet. I'm getting concerned that I won't get it tomorrow now (and I'm out working all day Saturday). :-/
@bhudablue at what point during the ordering process were we assured it would arrive on the 3rd of March, baring in mind this is where the sales contract would have been generated, anything from customer services may be unreliable.
man was that a panic but my amazon order is finally prepping for dispatch, for anyone who wants to know though asda uk have switch available for click and collect and next day delivery was about to order one from then when amazon updated my order, for some odd reason asda don't have any games though.

Hi there,I think I see where you are coming from on this,and you may well be right,I phoned nintendo store on 14th january to enquire if I pre-ordered with them would I be guaranteed 3rd of march delivery,I was assured it would be delivered then.I then laboured the point somewhat with them and was categorically told definately march 3rd.This I understand may not be in anyway binding in law in England (I think verbal contracts are in Scotland) but never the less I was given assurances by Nintendo.
@bhudablue Training in retail the day prior to a launch is normal. Back when I worked at EE before the iPhone 7 launch, there was a day of training as well right before launch.

Hi there,someone else mentioned this earlier in the forum.I was unaware of this practice,is this an industry wide thing?What is the thinking behind it.Seems somehow morally wrong to me,kind of underhand.
@bhudablue I'm not sure what it is, but it was Apple sending stock the /day/ of the launch and I guess keeping it fresh in the mind.
I don't know if its industry wide, but for my case it was because Apple are dicks and didn't say anything until the day before. This is probably the last round of a series of training for Nintendo, as things are at the final stages for the launch, and you cant predict what will happen at that time reliably.
So in many respects, I expect they will have been trained prior, but this is the full launch ready last minute info that can only be confirmed right at the time, because that's just how the world works. Couriers, mail etc. don't plan far in advance.

@aesc Personally don't have much experience of pre-ordering, so I would only assume that, if ordering online, it might only get shipped on Day 1, so allow delivery time, unless the retailer specifically states otherwise.

Physical store preorders are the most likely not to be ruined by cancellations, delivery issues, etc. but on the other hand you have the possibility of stuff like staff selling your preorder to someone else happening instead.
Well I am absolutely overwhelmed at the goodwill on this forum from complete strangers,people never cease to amaze.I thank in particular lemsip for his kind offer,but thanks to the beautiful,wonderous ,almost life saving Burger-king my wife is at this very moment in our local toys r us paying for the last one they have in stock for pick up tomorrow,you sir /madam can put a big smile on your face knowing that a sweet little kid is going to be overjoyed tomorrow instead of miserable,we cant thank you enough.
