I was looking to import Ghost Trick from PlayAsia when I started wandering what other games are exclusive to Japan or any other region. So I could order in bulk. Thought it will be a good idea to create a list of physically released games that can be imported. So it’s helpful to everyone.

*I’ll keep adding the games as you guys suggest on the comment.

List Of Games:

  • Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese release)
  • Atelier Mysterious Trilogy Deluxe Pack (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese release)
  • Capcom Belt Action Collection/Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle (Japan)

I'm not sure this is a rabbit hole you'd want to go down. There are hundreds of physical releases exclusive to regions outside of North America. More than a few of them are from limited print companies, are out of stock from their original storefront, and are now overpriced in the second hand market. However, I did post a list of games I consider 6-out-of-10 or better experiences exclusive to Japan.

https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/your_late...

Of course the list doesn't include exclusive releases from France, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, various other regions of Southeast Asia, etc. If you're interested, I could add those...in time.

From a quick look at my own collection:

Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese one)
Atelier Mysterious Trilogy Deluxe Pack (Similar to the above, only the Asian version supports English)
Capcom Belt Action Collection/Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle (Japan)
Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy (Japan/Asia)
Dragon Quest I+II+III (Asia)
Final Fantasy IX (Asia-only. Europe has a code-in-a-box release)
Final Fantasy X/X-2 (X-2 is a download code in Europe/America. In Asia/Japan, it's in the cartridge)
Legend of Mana (Asia-only. Europe has a code-in-a-box release)
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild + Expansion Pass (Japan)
Mantis Burn Racing (Japan)
Mr. Driller Encore/Mr. Driller Drill Land (Asia/Japan. Europe has a code-in-a-box release)
Ninja Gaiden Master Collection (Asia/Japan)
Onimusha (Japan)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (Japan)
River City Saga: Three Kingdoms (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese one)
Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song (Asia)
Romancing SaGa 2 (Asia)
Romancing SaGa 3 (Asia)
SaGa Frontier (Asia)
SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Platinum (Asia/Japan)
SD Gundam G Generation Genesis (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese one)
Super Robot Wars 30 (Asia/Japan)
Super Robot Wars T (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese one)
Super Robot Wars V (Asia/Japan)
Super Robot Wars X (Asia/Japan)
Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack (Asia/Japan. Europe has a code-in-a-box release)
Touhou Spell Bubble (Asia)
Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher (Only the Asian version supports English, not the Japanese one)
World of Final Fantasy Maxima (Asia-only. Europe has a code-in-a-box release)

Note: There are also games that did technically receive an American release (such as Blaster Master Zero and River City Girls), but it was for such a limited time that, realistically, only the Asian/Japan versions can be found nowadays without being price-gouged. If you want, I can mention some of them.

@Dimjimmer Thanks mate, I've added the games to the list 👍 just out of curiosity, what's the difference between the Asian release and Japan release? What's the country of origin for the release of the Asian version?

I normally buy local Australian releases (which are almost always repackaged European cartridges). Below is a list of most (if not all) of the games that I have imported, including releases from USA and Europe. Many Asian releases are simply repackaged Japanese cartridges, but there are special exceptions, such as the Atelier trilogies (where the Japanese releases specifically do not support English while the Asian ones do).
