Topic: Nintendo needs to stop pretending every game they make is evergreen

Where I live, Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy is down to €35. This is 3 full games with tons of content. At the same time Mario Tennis, a game criticized for having a low amount of content sits firmly at €55 and show no sign of dropping any time soon.

At this point, it should be a €20, or perhaps even €15 game. Everything from Yoshi to New Super Mario Bros. U just sit at full price forever. Sometimes the eshop has sales on some of the games, but if you want physical copies you're going to be paying full price for every single game.

I get that Breath of the Wild will never drop in price, since it's so big and well made, but Mario Tennis isn't an evergreen title were they can just keep the full price indefinitely. It's probably a bad business strategy too, since people like me would have bought a ton of these smaller titles if they ever decreased in price.

@Agriculture This topic again. Companies price their products for what they will sell for. If the price isn't dropping, then that means the products are still selling at a rate the company is content with.

As for Nintendo, we will probably see the return of "Nintendo Selects" eventually. Maybe next year. At that point, you can likely expect a lot of games to go down in price as they get put into that range.

@Heavyarms55
But the bad news is the Nintendo Select frame is always ruining the beauty of front cover for collectors. 😆
Same thing with Best Price or EA Best Hits that ruining the front cover with colored frame.

Yes, this topic will show up often since it's a big problem. Hopefully they will release Nintendo Selects and hopefully they won't ruin the box art too much, at least not as much as some of the Switch games with warnings about how you need to download half of the game.

@Anti-Matter Yeah, I can totally imagine that that sort of thing would be really annoying for collectors. Personally I don't mind because I'm a spoiled and selfish fool with limited self-control and thus I tend to buy games I want when they come out - even if I wont be able to play them for weeks or months or.... (ever)

Your not alone now.... Now I got smarter unless it's a CE/LE/SE or Bonus DLC - I will wait to get it at lower price or when it goes on sale. Or in the case of Darkside was a black cover that was a hot item and I got mine before they changed it back to the Red cover-this mistake was a hot seller.

@Agriculture Do as others do now learn the hard way get when it goes on sale. So unless as mentioned isn't a mistaken cover or CE/LE/SE or Bonus DLC then I would wait for it to go on sale. For this Twitter is very good to infom one that is how I bought SMM2 at bottom price.

I'm not gonna say there's zero valid points to this as a whole, Nintendo is sometimes overly strict with their pricing. But in this specific case, it kinda entirely ignores that Nintendo put an entire year's worth of free content updates into the game? Crash were remakes and had one content update AFAIK.
