So I’ve had an individual membership with expansion pack for a long time and have games I purchased through eshop and a lot of game progression.
I recently turned off the auto renewal for it.
I then created a new family online account base to save money and connect all of my family’s switches to. Which is three in total.
I figured out that any games I bought on my old account and user I will still be able to play as long as I keep that user on my switch.
My question is the games that I bought with my old user that gave online feature such as dead by daylight can I still play them online with the family plan and keep my game progression?
If I add my old user to my family group through my Nintendo account online I believe I will get the online features for those games still and keep my progression as long as I play that user?
@DeadOne User accounts and access to your previously purchased games are not dependent on having any NSO subscription. Provided you retain the account details, you can log on to any Switch in the world and be able to access your digital games (assuming Internet connection).
For accessing your save files (progression), you will have to have that specific user account registered on the Switch and if for cloud saves you do need a NSO subscription, but it doesn't matter if it's an individual or family group subscription. But if you're using more than one Switch then you do tend to have to keep an eye on syncing save files with the cloud and other devices.
If you've been using the same Switch the whole time anyway, or transfer a user account from one Switch to another, then you don't need to use the cloud saves feature - most/all of the save data will be on that device. Just look out for games like Animal Crossing, where the progress data can only be transferred to another device by using a game-specific transfer method (I've not had to do this so am not familiar with the exact process).
