@nintendobynature tell you man some people are just going to be cynical and want to make everyone as miserable as them I say keep enjoying the speculation, after all, gaming is meant to be fun and I enjoy the hype for whats next. Wherever you go on the internet your going to find these kinds of people the same people who think they are to 'smart' to just enjoy games and who have to try to justify gaming to themselves and everyone else by trying to make out its this super serious artistic industry that has to be constantly analysed and critiqued.
@bluemage1989 exactly my thoughts. I can't wait for the next direct and the next direct and the next direct. I seriously love the anticipation, and the reveals. I can understand people who don't really care though because they have a massive backlog so learning about more games coming is a win win for them. But me personally, I really try not to amass a giant backlog. I've been pretty good over the digital era with not amassing large backlogs as I'll only buy a game at a time. Sometimes itll be 2 or 3 games if a sale has me interested but I never(almost never) start new games until i finish what im playing. So usually I'll have 2 games in rotation I'm playing at a time. Which is why im so giddy for a direct. I never have a massive backlog to keep me occupied for a year on end. But that's not to say there isn't tons of great stuff i can buy on the eshop at any point because there is. Sorry for the ramble, I just love and want a direct
@nintendobynature I have oodles of games to play and yet I still can't wait for more!! Honestly the backlog and replay log are pretty big but you know what I have no issue with adding even more to it haha the thing is some people stress out about backlogs trying to tick off a list what they feel they should be playing rather than what they want to play. I have the day off today and am loving playing the Streets of Rage games on Mega Drive I could be playing something like Pokémon Let's Go which I have really enjoyed but have only played about ten hours of so far.
I am always a massive fan of E3 I take the week off work and spend the whole time enjoying the coverage, the build up, the presentations and all the footage and hands on. I love it but its only once a year so these Directs are great for keeping me going between E3.
13th February is a Wednesday which is a weird date for a Direct to take place. Nintendo usually prefers to hold them during Thursdays, especially during the Switch period. For this reason alone I am going to say that there won't be any Directs happening on this date.

Could be a stretch but does anyone else think all the leakers maybe push Nintendo into purposely going against what the Leakers say ( assuming the Leakers are correct)? For instance everyone kept saying mp trilogy was coming and it was being talked about everywhere that it was to be announced during the game awards. Then low and behold it was a no show. Everyone kept saying a direct was coming January and low and behold no direct. Not saying Nintendo would solely base their business plans around leakers but they could purposely tweek some Things around in spite of leakers and to throw them off. Am i crazy and over thinking this? Probabaly.. that's what a 6 month direct drought does to the common man 😋
I really hope there is Mario Maker and statements from Nintendo and several other leaks point to it. Something the fans wanted? Great for Switch Online? Yep. Both those things describe Mario Maker.
If Pikmin 3 comes I have no reason to go back to my Wii U. Really, Maker and Pikmin are the only reason I go back to it. To be honest, I like being able to take those games on the go.
-If 2D Zelda is coming to Switch then that's bad news for the 3DS. What's left behind on the 3DS are ports and games they already had made but have little confidence in. Luigi's Mansion and Pokémon also being on Switch pointed to it's demise.
@nintendobynature Hmmm, I 100% don’t think Nintendo’s marketing plans are being swayed by leaks. If they have spent thousands producing and editing a video, they’re probably going to air it - unless a key element, such as MP4, suddenly no longer applies. However, I’d guess they simply didn’t have a direct planned for January.
My only truly educated guess is that they they will release a direct before Yoshi comes out. Whether that’s next week or some time in March, who knows?
