@Gerald Well yes, but Nintendo is still a company that has to satisfy shareholders and also has to make money. At some point they will have to announce something and who knows how long the pandemic will continue.
That being said, I also think we won't get anything this week
1pm UK time and no Direct announcement, looks like it's probably not happening this week.
Sigh, so much for that āleakā from the person who supposedly correctly predicted past Directs.
Will that Star Wars Jedi Knights game thatās coming out tomorrow for PS4 be coming for Switch? One would assume a Direct would be where it gets announced.
I just wish Nintendo would have used last week to air a regular Direct than an Indies Direct. Most people want a normal Direct at this time, not Indies.
I'm actually really surprised there's no direct announcement today. The last 5-6 weeks I haven't been expecting one. But i was certain that Nintendo would have to say something by end of March at the latest. I guess we still have Monday and Tuesday of next week, but im not confident we'll have one on Tuesday.
My honest question is; with going this long without a direct, what's stopping Nintendo from waiting until e3 to show off everything? I don't see see them having one in April then another in June. So I truly feel like if it didnt happen this week, June it is, which is really crazy to think about.
I think another person said something along the same lines the other day, but still, I wanted to give my 2 cents.
@NintendoByNature They still have time to announce it today if it's actually happening. Other announcements have come later than this. Not that I think it will mind you.
As for a June direct, why does it have to be June? E3 isn't happening, so they can do a direct whenever they want.
Love anything Zelda. Most other Ninty franchises too! Purposely vague...
@tzahn that's true. Im saying e3 because the majority of the industry said theyre still going to put together live streams and presentations. Although, i dont recall if Nintendo specifically said they would as well.
Rogue Company (one of the few games from the September 2019 Direct not yet released) got a gameplay reveal trailer with alpha signups available today. Looking increasingly unlikely for that Direct announcement.
@NintendoByNature I agree that Nintendo will probably do something around that time to stay in front of people. Maybe they'll do a direct sometime before June and then just have the Treehouse-style playthroughs during that time.

It's possible Nintendo decided to see how Animal Crossing does on the market as a tester in the current climate. The fact it's seemed to have done well may encourage them to put another game out so they'll start working on the marketing now-ish.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Um, hello? Is this where we gather to weep, yes?
I'm here to lament the fact that we're half a week in, and... and that one rumor about two streams before the end of March only ended up being true about the one stream I didn't even care in the first place, the Indie World. Is an actual Direct really that much to ask for?
I mean... okay, we're past Animal Crossing's release now. I guess that the coronavirus would force Nintendo's hand a wee bit, but... changing that "whateverember" release date to "early 2020", other than video editing, is really that hard to do? I mean, Whatsapp voice notes kind of exist. The narrator could rerecord the voiceover that way.
I don't quite have lots o' loot, because I'm from the Boot.
I think the lesson to be learned here is be to very critical on the precision of rumours if you're going to be looking at them. Indie World being off by a day should've been a red flag but instead it was treated as "close enough" because of time zones.
@Grumblevolcano didn't we learn this leason already after the AC-Direct? i mean there was a rumor that said that we get an AC-Direct at february 20th and a normal direct the week after
@Grumblevolcano Totally agree with you. Think people are way too desperate for news on games. For games we already know are coming, they can and have so many times in the past, just posted a tweet with a release date and a trailer. You donāt need a Direct for that and maybe with Xenoblade Chronicles, thatās not a bad thing as itās a remaster anyway. For everything else they can wait until June or later to announce. But it all depends how confident Nintendo are they can get anything out with the way things are going.
