Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@BabyYoshi12 It was double disappointment! firstly when they said it was a partner showcase and then afterwards when I knew the games announced!!

Right now I was be extremely happy with ports only for the rest of the year, Mario (x2 or 3) + Pikmin would be great, Mario + Pikmin + Metroid or Zelda would be amazing!!

@jump Nothing in the Direct was to my taste. I was delighted to sit down and watch a short Nintendo Direct. I missed that feeling.

@rallydefault Bravely Default II doesn't have a release date, just the very vague "2020" window.

@BabyYoshi12 Have to disagree there, March's Direct Mini while not that good was a lot better than July's Partner Showcase.

@Yoshi87 I'd guess Paper Mario was meant to release on October 30th and got moved forward to July to prevent the gap between Clubhouse Games and the next 1st party game from being massive.

@Grumblevolcano That’s not really that hard to beat. Japan had the better showcase, 2 games that should have been in the western Direct and I only assume didn’t make the cut due to problems getting a translated trailer (?) or they really did feel WWE would some how appeal to their market.

@FragRed While Japan had the better Partner Showcase, I'd say the March Direct Mini was better than the Partner Showcase for Japan too.

@Grumblevolcano Again, not disagreeing with you. Was just pointing how bad it was. I don’t really know why they could have just done a quick fire Direct. 10 minutes is enough time to provide updates on a good few third party games. Would not have been what people wanted but it may have helped make the situation look better regarding upcoming games.

Heh, so short you'd hardly sat down before you were getting up again, @BabyYoshi12 .... ? Hopefully, they might have learned something from that & can do slightly better next time, though

@BruceCM That’s why I liked it though. It’s not too long. Anything over 15-20 minutes results in me going to the website and watching what I want to, which is normally 2 minutes or less. So even though none of this speaks to me, I was happy to sit down and finally watch a not-too-long Direct.

I want each direct to be a marathon. Minimum of 2-3hours long just pummeling us with info over the next decade lol

@NintendoByNature Yeah, no. I can’t handle watching hours upon hours of information about games I’ll never get. Yesterday, I was happy to just have the feeling of a Direct even if none of the information mattered to me! That’s why I didn’t like March’s, @Grumblevolcano. It was long boring info, just a month after the Animal Crossing Direct that I watched. This one, is much shorter and there’s been 4 months since the last one.

@Nookingtons If only... I still don’t think we’ll get a full non-mini Direct anytime soon.

Oooh, is it, @Nookingtons ... What games are they revealing, then?

@BabyYoshi12 eh 30-40 mininum is perfect really. As long as its reveal after reveal with only a few games being spot-lighted for 4-5 min each.

The sad thing is they did put some effort into it, some of their wrestlers were on it actually playing with Switch controllers in their hands.

It could have been more of a skit and had Asuka cheat to win by green misting Big E on the couch or something though.

As of right now the only games with release dates post-July are Crystal Chronicles and Jump Force in late August, the sports games and the original Shantae in September, Lego Star Wars in late October, and then Bakugan and Sakuna in early November.

That's pretty dire. As of right now I could literally go without buying any games until late October with Lego Star Wars. That's a quarter of a year.

At least my backlog and wallet will be happy!

@Grumblevolcano That's an interesting theory, which certainly could be the case - although I still tend to think it was probably coming earlier. The issue for me is that if Paper Mario was coming later, I don't understand why they didn't still release Pikmin 3 Deluxe which I think we all basically know should have come out around July but has obviously been pushed back for some reason.

@IceClimbers If it helps there's also PGA Tour and Captain Tsubasa (the anime soccer game) in August, AVICII Invector and RPG Maker MV in September, Samurai Jack, No Straight Roads, Zoids Wild and Prinny 1&2 in October and XIII in November.

Still a pretty dire schedule, but personally I'm at least looking at getting Crystal Chronicles (to play with friends) in August, and maybe AVICII Invector in September before Lego Star Wars.

Yeah. RPG Maker MV for Switch, when MZ just came over here on Steam, @link3710 .... Not sure how many will be getting that! Crystal Chronicles having only online multi-player puts me off, so maybe Prinny 1&2, I'm not sure yet
