NL's article covering what games were releasing over the next couple months reminded me of the Switch port for this, which is arriving next month. It annoys me that, much like Maglam Lord, various Amazon filters just skip right over this game, i.e. - if I adjust my filter for $50 or less it wasn't shown for me.
Anywho, I'm a fan of musou games, I'm a fan of games with fanservice of any degree, and I'm a fan of both franchises. This seems like a slam dunk 7/10 experience for my taste in games.
What's the difference between a Musou and a hack n' slash game? Genuinely asking. From what I see, it's just the number of enemies and
maybe that Musou games are more basic combo-wise? Personally I'd condider the Senran Kagura games hack n' slash games.
As for this new one, I'm a bit excited for it. Deep Crimsom (3DS) was actually a good game that got an undeserved treatment by reviewers. I know that reviews are subjective but I remember them saying stuff like the game having poor visuals (out of the 80+ games on my 3DS it was one of the better looking ones) and being able to be finished with mindless button mashing. I mean, sure, you can technically finish any hack n', slash, fighting game and beat'em up that way with a bit of luck, but you won't have a good time and chances are that it will take a while. The game, from my experience, actually had good difficulty and punished button smashing. It was a shame that after that, future entries focused just on fanservice and made the gameplay aside.
If this one is as good as Deep Crimson, I think that it's an easy recommendation for any fan of those genres. I get that fanservice isn't for everyone as personally it really isn't enticing for me, but there's also nothing wrong about it either. For those that like it is a plus and for those that don't it shouldn't be that negative. Don't expect a great story though, I have no idea why some people say that they have good story when it's definitely one of the weakest aspects by a really long shot haha.
Well, it's mostly the number of enemies, @roy130390 .... It looks like it'd be arpg/ hack & slash, not huge numbers of enemies on screen
Looking pretty good to me but I do already like both series involved
@BruceCM Thanks for the answer! Yeah, from the looks of it, the gameplay is the same as Deep Crimsom and Estival Versus which is good for me, although I wouldn't mind if they add more combo variety.
I don't know anything about the Neptunia series, but it looks interesting.
Dunno about Deep Crimson as I only have Burst Renewal & the 2 Versus games on Steam, @roy130390 .... As for Neptunia games, I'm sure this will cover enough of their premise
Preorders for the limited edition are live, exclusive to Idea Factory's store. Personally I think $50 over msrp is fair for what's included. But I need the funds elsewhere. The volume of releases these next few months are going to put a hurt on my wallet. https://iffysonlinestore.com/neptunia-senran-ninja-wars-LE/
