Topic: Need third party joycon recommendations

Got mine back from repair and the left one is already drifting again after only managing to play katamari, katana zero, and lucah born of a dream with them... so like 15hrs of gaming? Don't feel like sending it in again if it's not a decent fix, anyone know any good third party controllers for playing in handheld mode?

@ancientlii My advice would be to buy some electrical contacts cleaner, then spray under the rubber lip on the joycons. It's not a permanent fix, but it definitely clears up the issue for a while. Just be prepared to repeat it every couple of weeks. I usually do it before going to bed, so they have time to dry out overnight.

Did you contact them about the problem? I thought if NIN you would replace them not fix them? So whom did you send it to get fix at?

I've got the third party joycons that look like this. They work just fine.

The only real downsides are the motion controls, which are awful and can't really be used, and the rumble, which is also terrible. They're fine for basic button controls though, and attach to the Switch and charge automatically like regular joycons:

If you're decent at tinkering, you can get replacement thumbsticks for $15 via amazon. I went that route, and got some nice atomic purple shells to put on while I was in there.

I would've if you had issue told them to replace it. I think they would've done that instead.

There has to be variations in production quality for the joycons, because none of mine have ever had this issue. Not even the ones I got on launch day.
