Topic: Monster Hunter Rise - Time To Get Excited?

Hi Everyone,

Hope y'all had a good new year, and looking forward to a better 2021 ( dont see how it could be much worse lol ).With the demo for Rise dropping like a hot potato on switch and NL recent frame rate video and gameplay footage, has this wetted your appetite even further for what could be the greatest entry in capcoms beloved series. If it has or hasn't then let me know why in the comments below.

After playing the demo I'm optimistic but wary. I had fun playing it and want to be excited but I'm being a little put off with just how long it takes to kill a monster. The beginner's hunt was fine, but once I moved onto the intermediate one I was really surprised with how much the difficulty ramped up. I'm sure that veteran players would have had no problem, and that was probably who that hunt was aimed at, but it seemed like it would take a very, very long amount of time to be successful. I'm hoping that it was simply a result of not having decent gear rather than that just being part of the game. I'm also hoping that this wasn't a result of needed to ride another monster into the fight to have any chance at success as I found that to be pretty cumbersome. All in all, I want to like the game but as a newcomer I'll be waiting on detailed reviews before I make a purchase.
