Topic: Minor solution for Earth Night's performance issues.

So I ended up getting Earth Night, and I too noticed some performance issues, mainly frame drops when the game attempts to load new information about stages and transitioning between the layers of the atmosphere.

I've found a solution that fixes, some, of the frame drops.

Rather than installing the game onto your SD card, install the game on the system's 32GB storage.

At least doing this will reduce the frame dropping and skipping that might appear in levels. However it's not a full solution as the game still has long loading times, and the it'll still slow down to a snail's pace when you enter a new layer of the atmosphere. But at least it'll reduce the frame drops during gameplay; as I said though, it's reduced, and not removed. I do sometimes notice a slight change in frame rate, even with the game on the main Switch storage, but I've found that it'll only happen once per playthrough, rather than it happening maybe 3, 4 or even 5 times per playthrough on an SD card. I own an SD card that's 100MB/s read, which is the typically read speed of a standard spinning hard disk drive, so it seems crazy to think that there's a bottleneck issue happening on the SD card. My only guess is that the game was originally developed and tested only using the Switch's internal storage, rather than testing the game on an SD card too.

Here's hoping that there's a future update that will optimise the game!

If there is a bug you should really contact the Developer and report it to them that will insure it gets there faster to fix or get a update out for it.
